Holy Sunshine!

This weekend was absolutely perfect as far as weather was concerned!  We could not have asked for a better Saturday and Sunday!  Although, yesterday was jam packed with activities all day, today was much more low key - but we still managed to have a great time!  Unfortunately, Josh was stuck in the garage all.freaking.day working on a friends car, but the boys and I took full advantage of this awesome spring weather!  Its amazing how great of a mood everyone is in when the sun is shining!

After playing out back for awhile the boys and I headed over to my mom's for a BBQ while Josh finished up on the car.  Both of my brothers and my grandma were also there for the delicious dinner, so it was fun to catch up and the boys LOVE hanging out with their uncles!  Charlie always has something cool for Zane to play with and this time was no different!

After we got back home, Josh was finally done with the car and we headed out for ice cream and more play time outside!  I was too busy stuffing my face and playing so no pictures were taken, but I wanted everyone to know that Josh did actually get some time outside today as well!

Tate is Eight (haha, I made a rhyme)!

Our good friend Tate is turning eight tomorrow - but lucky us, his party was yesterday!  After the expo, we left Landon at home to nap with daddy and Zane and I headed out to Tate's Nerf party!  Zane was the youngest one there, but he held his own pretty good playing with the big boys and his good friend Kennedi (she's 5).  Happy Birthday Tate, can't believe you are 8 years old!!!

Diabetes Expo

The American Diabetes Association hosts a large Diabetes Expo at the Convention Center each year.  We missed it last year, but made sure to stop by this year to check it out.  There were a lot of vendors there to check out - some that we cared about, but many we didn't!  I will say I'm very excited for the new One Touch meter - I'm hoping to pick one up tomorrow and start using it as soon as our strips for the old one are gone!  Ahh, the little things in life that excite me now!  Anyway, Zane had a blast at the Washington Youth Soccer booth that was set up, he begged us not to leave and begged us to go back to it before we left (so we did).  The folks that were running the booth seemed pretty impressed with our little man - of course we always are!

Pizza Chef

Papa Murphy's has these great little personal pizzas for kids to make and they are only $3!!  As a little surprise I stopped by one on the way home Friday and let Zane grab one!  He was very insistent on the way home that he wanted to put the entire thing together himself with no help - well, ok then buddy!  Although, he did tell me he wanted my help putting in and taking it out of the oven - phew, glad to know I'm still needed for somethings!!

Gymnastics & A Dog

Zane's last gymnastics class was this past Thursday (I'm a bit behind)!  When we walked in and walked towards the bleachers that Landon and I camp out on while Zane's tumbling we spotted a pretty big dog just chilling on the floor in front of them.  My first thought was it was a medical alert dog, but it didn't have anything on identifying itself as such, so I had no idea who's dog it was or why it was there.  Well, Landon just went crazy for the dog (something to this day Zane has never done - he's very skittish of dogs).  I tried to keep Landon away from the dog because I had no idea if he was friendly or if the owners wanted my 15 month old poking and prodding their dog...but there was no stopping Landon.  He went over and just fell in love with the dog and the dog just laid there and took it all, didn't even bat an eye.  In talking with people sitting around me (while still trying to figure out who's dog this was) I learned he was one of the gym owners dogs and he just pretty much lives there (funny, that in 5 weeks I had never seen him before).  Anyway, it was obvious this dog did very well around people and especially kids!  I personally am not a dog lover - I think they are cute and great companions, but mainly only when they belong to someone else!  Although, after seeing this dog and seeing how great he was with Landon and how much Landon just adored him...I almost changed my mind...note I said almost!

Asking for money isn't something Josh or I enjoy doing, but we feel it is imperative that a cure is found for Type 1 Diabetes (as with many other diseases too), but this one effects our lives everyday.  If you can find it in your heart, please donate to Team Zane and help fund the research needed to find a cure.  We would also love for you to join our team and come out and walk or run with us on May 20th Husky Stadium!  Every dollar counts.

Happy Birthday Natalie

Our little friend Natalie turned ONE yesterday!  This last year has flown by!!  Natalie is a very serious young lady and she was no different at her party yesterday!  She just likes to sit back, people watch and take it all in - such a mellow little girl, hmmm, I wonder what it would be like to have a mellow child??!!

Natalie wanted NOTHING to do with her cake!  Her mama gave her a fork a few mins in and she would dig at the cake, but still refused to put any in her mouth!  I wish I had that sort of self control!
