Preschool Love
I shared these on my FB page, but I need to put them here as well to make sure they are never (hopefully) lost. Landon adores this little girl named Ava from his preschool and has since he started last fall. I have tried many times to connect with Ava's mom to schedule a playdate, but I never hear back. Maybe she is afraid of my little boy stealing her daughter's heart? Whatever! Anyway - I am so thankful to his teacher for capturing these adorable precious moments during the day that I don't get to see!

Date Night
A couple weeks ago I challenged the boys to find a missing piece to one of their toys. Like any good challenge a prize for the winner was necessary. I told them whoever found the piece first won a date with mommy. I actually said it as a joke, but they were hot to find the piece to win the date, so I went with it. The piece was never found. Landon moved on...Zane (my sensitive boy) melted down because now he'll never get a date with mommy. That night I explained to him that if he wants a date with a girl he needs to ask her out on one. So he asked me for a date :)
Next we headed to dinner at one of our fav's...Mod Pizza. Fun fact...unknowingly Josh also took Landon there...we were all there at the same time, but Zane and I never knew. I asked Josh why he didn't say something to us and he said "you were on a date, I wasn't going to interrupt ", made me laugh!
We headed out Sunday evening and had a blast. Josh in turn took Landon out and he too had a great time...but now they're both asking for another date...swapped this time (Z with daddy and L with mommy)! I love it.
First we headed to Dick's to check out all the sports stuff and find a water bottle that Zane was just dying to have!

We then headed to pick up dessert!
And then to the park to play:
Boy how I love this sweet, sensitive, beautiful, athletic, funny boy. I can't believe how big he's getting and I feel so special that he still loves to hang out with his mama!

The Faces of T1D
Zane was featured on a poster during the 4-mile walk during Beat the Bridge again this year - we didn't do the walk, so did not see the poster out there - but have heard it was there! I was sent a copy of what it looked like though - so here you go :)

Beat the Bridge - 2015 Team Zane
Team Zane was at it again this year and we will be every year in some capacity or another until a cure is found or until Zane tells us he's done! It's the least we can do as his family and friends.
Nothing ceases to amaze me with these kids - they are out there running their hears out, checking blood sugars, chugging juice and all with smiles on their faces. I don't know how they do it, I really don't. I've poked my finger by accident with his poker and wanted to yell out a non-kid friendly word or two...so to see these kids of all ages (including babies) doing it with out even a flinch brings a tear to my eye. Sure there are many nights that Josh and I have very interrupted sleep because of diabetes; sure there are days that Zane says he hates it and doesn't want it anymore; sure there are days that I cry over it after I go to bed so no one will see me; sure there are days that I have to break the news to him that he can't have that coveted ice cream he wants so badly because his blood sugar is over 500; sure I want to cry with him when I break that news and sure there are days that I say f*ck it and let him have the ice cream even with a blood sugar of over 500. There are many crappy things about diabetes, but there are many great things we have gained through it as well. We have really learned who our real friends are. The friends who relentlessly get up early every year to fight traffic and crowds to come out and show their support for Zane. The friends who even when they can't be there always go out of their way to make a donation to JDRF to find a cure for him. The friends who ask us about Zane and the ones who just know by the look on our face that it hasn't been a good day or night and try to be there for us even though they don't know how to fix it. These are the friends that we will carry with us for a lifetime. These are the friends that Zane will carry with him for a lifetime. And to all of you and you know who you are THANK YOU. It's life, it's our life and it's one that we have adapted too and one that we don't know any different from anymore.
It was a great day out there today!!

Cubs T-Ball
Landon had another game this weekend and the kid is still pretty clueless...but at least he's cute! I am vowing to get out with him at least 3 days this week to practice...this kid will get it by the end of the season; mark my words...just don't hold me to them :)
He seriously has two of the best coaches and they adore him - always make comments on how cute he is and that he's "worth the price of admission", haha... The coaches are so helpful with him and always cheering him on when he finally gets it!

Trike-a-Thon
Landon's preschool had a Trike-a-Thon this past Friday to raise money for Camp Korey. Landon learned a lot about Camp Korey in the last couple of weeks and it was great to hear him talk about kids who have physical impairments and the fun they still get to have a camp. I took the day off so I could volunteer at the event and I'm glad I did. He loved having me there and I loved watching him with all of his buds and flying around the track on his bike!

Mom's Day 2015
Mother's Day
- Trip to the Ballard Locks - boys loved watching the "boat elevator".
- Yummy pastry treat at Larsen's Danish Bakery in Ballard; best maple bar I've ever had.
- Lunch at Red Mill in Ballard; yummy.
- Stopped by the Museum of Flight so boys could check out some military planes only in for the weekend.
- Took the boys to a big park in South Seattle to play; they didn't want to leave.
I love these boys so much and am so happy to be their mom - I don't always have the best patience, but it's something I'm trying to work on. They know I love them and that is really all that matters.
Love, love, love the handmade gifts the boys make at school each year...they get better and better. Landon couldn't wait to give me his, so talked me into opening it the night before! He sewed those hearts all by himself at school! Zane gave me the adorable love bug tile! I can't wait to get my master bedroom done (in the middle of re-doing it, a Mother's Day gift to myself), so I can put these up on the shelves I'm building!
