Lake Washington

We were so incredibly lucky this past Friday to be invited to a friend of a friends' house right on Lake Washington.  Even more lucky that I had already planned to be off at noon that day to play in the sunshine with the boys and Josh - so it worked out perfectly!  This house was gorgeous and we couldn't have asked for better weather or company.  We all had a great time and hope to be invited back again someday :)

End of Summer Waterslide

The Y near our house threw an "End of Summer" party this afternoon/evening and of course we had to take advantage of it!  Hard to believe that summer is coming to an end with temperatures predicted to be in the 90's tomorrow - but I know that fall is near.  As much as I love fall - I really will miss this sunshiney weather!

Taking a Dip {Snoqualmie River}

It was a little warm today and what better way to cool off than a nice dip in a cold river?!  We headed down to the Snoqualmie River this afternoon and to say it was chilly is an understatement - but it sure felt good!  It's like a little slice of heaven in our own backyard and I'm a little bummed it took us this long into the summer to go check it out!  Oh well, we'll take full advantage of it while we can this year and definitely make it a priority next year!

Zane jumped right in - not a care in the world, the cold didn't bother him one bit.  Landon on the other hand hated it, haha!  He was not a fan of the cold at all and to tell you the truth, I wasn't either.  I mean, I loved being up to my waist in it, but that was it - there was no getting my shoulders wet!  Landon had fun sitting in the sand and squirting us all with water guns!

If you look closely at this picture you can see all of the crazy high school 

kids jumping off the old train bridge!  One kid climbed to the very top of it and 

jumped; when he hit the water, you knew that had to hurt by the sound of it.

Sprinkler Fun

Our boys are getting along so well with the little girls next door and lucky for us, Josh and I get along with their parents too!   Every night I guess the girls are asking their mom (Megan) if "the new neighbors are home" - referring to Zane & Landon.  My boys ask every night if "the girls are out" referring to Leah and Allie of course - just cracks me up.  I honestly don't know if any of the kids really remember any of each others names because they are always referring to each other as "the new neighbors or the girls".

Lake Sammamish

The kids and I got home from work to a sweltering house...Josh was sound asleep in our bedroom where the air conditioner is.  We sat around for a little bit and it was decided (by me) that we needed to get out of the hot house and find some water somewhere!  I packed up our beach bag and we headed to the beach - the first place that I could think of that wasn't too far away was Lake Sammamish.  The Lake is a lot grosser than I remember it being as a kid - but the kids {i.e. Landon} wasn't too grossed out by it - but Zane is kind of like me and found it a little disgusting!  He played in it for a little, but then was happier playing in the sand!  Either way, we all had a great time!

Beat the Heat

I am not complaining at all - but it has been HOT the past couple days and is supposed to be for the next few days too!  I LOVE IT, but that doesn't mean it doesn't get a little uncomfortable at times!  Thankfully we have people in our life who have backyards big enough for little pools for the kids to cool off in!  We headed over to Lisa & Daniel's yesterday so she and I could go get pedicures and the dad's could watch the kids in their backyard pool!  It was a win-win for all of us!
