Park Date {w/Landon}

Zane wanted to stay home and play with the neighbor kids while I went to run and grab Landon from school today! It was nice to have a little 1:1 time with Landon and hit up a new park. This park is pretty neat because it's right in the middle of a big open field with cows roaming (not by the play structure of course) and a beautiful view of Mt. Si in the background!  I love living somewhere that is the perfect mix of country and city!

A sign of a good day - dirt!

Island Parks

The boys and I headed over to Mercer Island today to play at one park they knew of well and one that we've never been to before.  Both were successful in hours of play time!  The first is what the boys call "The Dragon Park" - it's really called Deane's Children's Park.  We first went there last year on Spring Break and were excited to go back today!  It did not disappoint!

The next park we went to was Luther Burbank Park - right on Lake Washington.  I had heard about this park and hear it was a good place to take pictures, which is why I wanted to check it out.  I didn't think they had any play structures and I had warned the boys...well, I was wrong!  There went my plan of trying to take some pictures of the boys with a pretty background...they bolted for the playground!  And I don't blame them - way more fun!

These next two pictures crack me up.  Once Landon was on the zip line, he didn't need anymore help but Zane was worried that it would be too fast or be too big of a bump at the end for Landon, so he was insistent on running alongside and helping the entire time.  Thankfully Landon didn't care - because he is all about "doing it himself" these days, so that could've been a major meltdown - but he actually told Zane "thanks" after!  It was cute!

Hearts Day

Josh had to work on Valentine's Day, so it was just me and my smallest Valentine's - we had a great day.

The boys woke up to little Valentine's and Zane made me an awesome Valentine!  Then they enjoyed some heart shaped meals - glad they don't mind the girly  hearts once a year!

Our weather has been exceptional lately and we took full advantage of it!  First we headed to downtown Snoqualmie to walk around and look at all of the cute little shops that we usually just drive right past without thinking twice about.

Then, I had found a screaming deal on soccer cleats for Landon the other night, so he was dying to try them out.  We headed to the park and the boys kicked the ball around for a bit, then headed over to the playground.

We took the trail through the woods home and then once home the boys played in the back alley with the neighbor kids - made swords and made forts in the woods!  After Josh got home, we enjoyed a nice dinner at home and called it a night!  A great Valentine's Day - a day with my two special little boys!

Pre-Hearts Day

Landon didn't have school due to Parent/Teacher conferences, so I was able to have a little 1:1 on time with my littlest main man after Zane left for school!

Landon and I then headed to Zane's school to help out in his class Valentine Party - I didn't take any pictures because I honestly didn't even think about it until after we were gone!  It was a quick party and 7 year old's are busy - so there wasn't really time to take pictures!  But I did take a photo of the Valentine's that each kiddo handed out at their parties.

After school we headed over to one of our neighbors for a cookie decorating party!  The kids didn't have any fun doing that, ha!

And after the cookies we all headed to the park to take advantage of this fabulous weather...Landon even felt it was necessary to take off his shoes and socks - I just love little baby/toddler feet!

Ball of Fire

Also known as sunshine!  I'm a little late in getting this blog updated (what else is new).  Anyway - we had a good 3-5 days stretch of what I call ideal winter weather!  It was cold (but not too cold) and it was GORGEOUS!  The sun was out, the skies were blue, everyone felt like it was spring already; many coined the term "Junuary" and I loved every minute of those days!

As with most things involving weather here in the PNW - it was short lived.  Now we are on a 10+ day stretch of rain in the forcast - boo hiss.  I cannot stand the gray, dreary, gloomy weather.  I don't mind cold; I actually LOVE the snow...but I get so sick and tired of the rainy gloom weather.  Josh on the other hand loves the doom and gloom weather, so the odds of talking him into moving to So Cal are probably slim to none :)  Oh well...I have to just keep remembering that it's not forever and we will eventually have spring/summer again.  Darn you Punxsutawney Phil for seeing your shadow yesterday, ugh - I really hope he's wrong and there are not 6 more weeks of winter!

Anyway - the point of this post is to show you how we love the sunshine and love to get out in it! We are so lucky to have so many parks around us in walking distance!  And I'm so lucky to have two boys that albeit they love their ipads, they'd prefer to be outside playing if given the choice!

Haha, he sure is fast :)
