Where is Zane?

I went in to wake Zane up this morning and look how I found him. I'm sure glad he was still breathing under there! Goofball!

A weekend full of fun...

We spent Saturday at Josh's parent's house and Zane had a great time playing and eating outside! Who would've thunk we'd have such nice weather at the end of September!!

Sunday was spent in Olympia at my nephew's birthday party! They had so many outside toys, Zane had a blast. I can't wait until we have our own backyard someday and can buy all of these fun toys for him!! He was having so much fun...he would be playing with one toy and then see another, so "run" (walk fast) over to that toy, then spot another one and move to the other side of the yard. He did so good walking on uneven ground. We did get our first grass stain though!!

Break time with grandpa!

4 eyes.

On a regular basis I wear contact and only contacts. Probably once a month I grace the world with myself wearing glasses. I really can't stand wearing glasses for many reasons. I wore them yesterday (my one day a month) and some people at work commented that they liked them and asked me to wear them the next day and they would all wear theirs too. Ok, this brings me back to middle school when you and your friends would get together and plan what you were going to wear the next day..."ok, you wear your blue shirt and I'll wear my red one that is like your blue one"...remember those days? Ok, maybe that was just me and my dorky friends. Anyway, I did wear them today (but I will say as I write this, my contacts are back in!!) and some friends who don't always wear glasses (and some that do daily) wore theirs...we couldn't help but document the occasion, just for fun! Now they'll all have to wait another month or two before I sport the specs again!

Great-Grandma's the name and spoiling's her game!

My grandma spoiled me like crazy when I was growing up (and still does) and I am so lucky to still have her around. Now, she is busy spoiling Zane like crazy! As much as he doesn't understand it or appreciate it, I do because its a big help to me. He seems to grow out of all of his stuff at the same time or need new sippy cups or updated toys or whatever and it nice that she helps us out with that! Here they are today on their way into the store; where as you can guess...she spoiled him!

He's got him some walkin' shoes!

Zane got his first pair of 'real' shoes yesterday! We drove out to the outlet mall in North Bend and went to the Stride Rite store. I had heard great things about these shoes, but also knew they were pricey. Since I went to the outlet store, I got 2 pair for the price of 1 at the regular store. SCORE! He is still learning how to walk in them, but doing pretty good for the most part...

Admiring his cute self!

Taking his first stroll in his new shoes!

A night out for mom!

I had my first night (I think) out last night since before I got pregnant!! A coworker had her 30th Birthday party at Salty's on Alki and I headed out with a few friends from work! Josh stayed home with Zane and the boys had a nice night! I had a lot of fun, it was just a good feeling to be out even though its always really hard for me to leave Zane. Its easier for me to leave him with daddy than it is with a babysitter, but I'm taking baby steps! Anyway, it was a gorgeous night in Seattle and a perfect night to be out! Too bad I have to work the next day!!!

Walk, walk, walk away!

Zane is officially walking! He still prefers to crawl because he can get to his destination faster, but he is officially an un-assisted walker! Below is a video...let me warn you though, he does decide to throw a screaming fit mid walk, but you'll see he gets over it rather fast! Enjoy our little man!

Our Hometown Hero!

Our good friend Brian just got back from doing a tour of duty in Iraq (or someplace close to there). We are so happy he is home safe. When he left his son (David) was only a little over a month old and now he's 7 mos old; I couldn't imagine being away for that long from Zane, but someone's got to do that dirty job over there. His wife Renee through a surprise party for him today; it was great to see him (oh and to get all of the kiddos together)! Welcome home Brian!

Miles (5 weeks); David (7 mos); Zane (10 mos)

Zane, David and Rogan playing outside! There must've been something interesting on the ground that they were all looking at!

The Alexander's with the Serna's (Brian, Renee & David)!

Zane just being cute...

I love playing my drum!

Can't we go outside too?

Yeehaw!

Go Seahawks!

So the game sucked...oh well, we still had fun in our Seahawks gear!

BBQ

Last night we went over to our friend's Lisa & Daniel's new house for a BBQ. They don't have all of their furniture yet so Zane just has a blast crawling all over their house. I think the open space is a wonderful thing for that boy...too bad we lack that at our house! Oh well, until they get their furniture in place we'll take advantage of the wide openness!

T-Ball

Zane and I went and watched Zane's little friend Tate's T-ball game yesterday. The weather turned out great for the game! Afterwards, we went to lunch. It was a fun time.

Double the kids = Triple the work!!

Ok, so not really, but two kids is for sure more difficult as one as all of you mom's of 2 or more can attest to!

I had one of my best friend's 17 mo old daughter all weekend as well as Zane of course! Brooklyn is a really good baby, so it really wasn't that much more difficult...as long as we stayed at home anyway! Going out was a lot more work; two car-seats; a double stroller; a cart that can fit two etc. It was a fun weekend and totally worth it, but I think I'll wait awhile longer before trying for #2 :)

Random pictures of the mischief man!

Getting into mischief; of course that's where I keep the cheese grater and other sharp objects...at a child's level...perfect.

Good, now my cheese grater is safe!!

Oh, his shirt does not lie!

Not enjoying his first long-board ride so much!

Trying to grab his 1st beer! I caught him, don't worry!

Not sure here what his deal, but I am thinking he likes the feel of the vibration (the dishwasher was on); he kept "kissing" it or putting his cheeks up against it...too cute not to take a picture.
