Two Months

Landon,

I cannot believe that 2 months has gone by since you were brought into this crazy family! We are all starting to get to know each other a little better and maybe just maybe starting to figure each other out a little more!

This last month has brought on a few new milestones for you. You are officially smiling on command now...that is if you call command me making silly noises at you or touching your nose while making silly noises! You are also starting to "coo" and I love it! You can see the little wheels turning in your head when you want to make a noise come out on your command and when you finally get it going you keep on going!

This is you trying to get a "coo" out!

You are still a baby that would prefer to be held 24/7, but you have finally learned to be somewhat content for a short-while on your play mat or on a blanket on the floor just long enough for me to empty the dishwasher!

I think what I am most pleased about over the last month is your sleeping habits! You went from sleeping a total of 3-4 hours a night to sleeping 6-7 hours straight a night right around 5-6 weeks. You have a hiccup of a night here and there, but those are a lot easier to tolerate now since they aren't every night! Now if we can get you to learn that just because you slept 7 hours and wake up at 3 or 4 am, that doesn't mean its time to be up for the day!! Yes, technically it is morning and technically you did sleep what most adults sleep in a full night, it is still not acceptable to stay awake once you wake up when its that early!

My next sleeping goal for you to achieve is to nap on your own (i.e. without needing to be held) for more than 30 mins! If I hold you, you will sleep 2 hours, but if you are on your own, its 30 mins tops usually! Don't worry kid, we'll get there, mommy's just happy you have your days and nights finally figured out.

Here are all swaddled up and ready to go to bed:

I think your favorite time of day is bath-time! You looooove to be naked...then again, who doesn't, right?! As soon as I lay you down on your changing table and start undressing you for your bath, you get the biggest smile on your face! You can be a very un-happy baby and as soon as that onesie slips over your head, you are a totally different person!

You definitely still have your moments, but even in those moments, you are still adorable!!

Happy Two-Month Birthday little man, we love you so much and can't wait to see what the next month brings!

Your 2-month stats:
13 lbs - 81%
23.25" tall - 65%
15.87" head circ - 59%

I love this...

I love that Zane loves his little brother so much! I know Landon is probably still a novelty to him and this might fade a bit overtime, but for the meantime I love watching it. Zane is always so concerned about Landon, where he is, what he's doing, why he's crying, wanting to make him happy, always wanting to snuggle with him, lay next to him etc. I know that there will come a time when Zane is very annoyed with his little brother taking his toys, always wanting to tag along, copying him etc, but I really hope that through all of that they develop a close relationship as the years go by and stay best friends forever!

I just downloaded all of the pictures off my camera and noticed the following pictures were all taken over the last week on different days. These pictures were not staged by me in anyway, this was all Zane's doing each time.

He asked...he received...

I asked Zane what he wanted to do today and he replied that he wanted to go to the mall and play...so to the mall to play we went!

He met a new buddy today while playing, they had a great time.

And this is how Landon spent his time at the mall play area today:

Just Cute.

I think this is the most rad picture of Zane in a long time!

February Snow!

I was so excited when they were calling for snow in the forecast this week...but also a little skeptical as it seems like the weathermen can never get that prediction right! Well, this time those lovely meteorologist did get it right, yahoo!! The weather was rather schizophrenic today, would dump snow for awhile then be blue skies and sun for awhile, snow again, sun again etc...sort of fun to watch though.

I promised Zane after his nap we'd go out and play in the snow, so that's what we did as soon as he woke up...here's proof!

Look, matching double chins...awesome.

Earlier some other kid had gone out and built this snow-something (not quite sure what it was supposed to be) at the bottom of the slide; Zane was so excited when I told him he could go down the slide and "crash" into it!

This looks like a really sad picture, but it was actually rather funny. I was trying to show/tell him how to make a snow angel and when he picked up one arm, a tiny bit of snow fell on his face and you'd think the world had come to an end. Needless to say after I snapped a quick picture, I helped him up and no snow angel was made.

Sleeping

I really, really hope that I don't jinx anything by broadcasting this on the blog...but I am happy to report that Landon is doing SO MUCH better with his sleeping! For the first month or longer he was sleeping about 3-4 hours TOTAL all night. Zane wasn't a champion sleeper as a baby, but he sure did a lot better than that, so it was quite the change. Right around 6 weeks, Landon flipped a switch! He is now sleeping from about 9 p.m. until between 3 or 4 a.m. and then eats and goes back down until between 6 or 7 a.m., that my friends is something I can work with! Of course a night here or there he reverts back to his old schedule, but the next night, he's right back on track!

Now, naps have been a different story...he prefers to be held during his naps and sometimes will sleep in his swing, but for the most part wants to be held. I LOVE holding him, don't get me wrong, but at times my other child needs attention or I have things around the house that just need to get done, so I need to be able to set him down. I decided today to lay him down (awake) in the bassinet in our room (he sleeps in his crib at night) at nap time while I folded laundry to see what happened...

This is what happened:
HALLELUJAH

He put himself to sleep (and with minimal fussing)!!! This may be a one time thing, but at least he's proven to me he can do it and its something we'll be trying again!

Meeting the twins!

My friend Julie (been friends since the 6th grade...wow) had twin girls (Makayla & Malia) in October and due to some medical hiccups along the way, one of the girls was in the hospital until December. Because of their recovery and all of our busy schedules I hadn't had the chance to meet these precious girls until today! They are such happy babies and Julie is so good with them, love to see them all so happy and thriving!

Of course the one picture where I sort of get all 3 of them to look at me, my stupid foot is in the picture :(

Zane wanted to compare his size to the babies as well!

Zane

Of course I am a little bias, but I have to say that I honestly think this is one of the cutest 3 year old boys on the planet! I am so proud of this kid! Zane has taken on his Diabetes like no one's business and he has taken on the pleasure of being a big brother like he was born to do it! He is one of the most well-behaved toddlers I've seen and everyday he amazes me with something else he says or knows! I love you buddy!

Playing games on my phone:

This picture was just taken last night and yes, he is wearing Christmas pj's. I am a sucker and can't pass up a good deal...they were only $2.50 at Target last week and they won't fit him next Christmas and he needed pajamas...so I bought them and he's wearing them with pride!

Playmat

I finally decided to try Landon on the playmat the other day...he did pretty well for a shortwhile! He isn't quite old enough to bat at or grab any of the toys, but he liked looking at them and at himself in the mirror! You will see that our cat is in one or more of these pictures...and most of the time Zane is trying to get on it at the same time as Landon, so you can tell its a pretty "hot" toy if all 3 of them are "fighting" over it!

She doesn't get out much...

Today was a great day...a great day because I got to get out and enjoy a little girl time! My good friend Jen gave me a gift certificate for a pedicure for my birthday and today was the day I redeemed it, Jen was nice enough to accompany me! After our pedicures we headed over to The RAM for a quick drink before heading home. It was so nice to be able to sit and talk and catch up, I had a really good time!!

This was the first time that Josh stayed with both boys by himself and I'm happy to report I came home to a somewhat calm house and everyone still alive; probably helps that Zane napped the entire time I was gone, haha!

Trying to pick a "floater" out of my drink!

Ahhh, yes, the long awaited Lemon Drop...I have been wanting one of these since mid-pregnancy!

My afternoon date!

Playdate

Today the boys and I drove up to Bothell for a little playdate with Andrew and Mason! Zane had so much fun playing with Andrew and couldn't stop talking about all of the toys he had on the way home!

The boys thought it would be fun to "hide" in the closet from the "bad guys"! Such imaginations!

Waiting for lunch (it was great, thanks again Lori).

Mason trying to stay awake long enough to eat!

The boys watching Superman!

Proof Landon was there too!
