Tailgate Parties Everywhere

Since I seem to have adopted the title of Social Coordinator at work these days - I decided to plan a Seahawks Tailgate Potluck on Superbowl Friday (1/30/15).  Group Health really got into the Hawk spirit as did most companies in the Seattle area I know.  They "officially" changed their name internally to Group Hawk (ha) and actually encouraged employees to disregard the dress code that is usually pretty strict for those of us who work in the medical centers and wear their Hawk gear on Superbowl Friday as well!  It was awesome!  I absolutely loved seeing all of the blue/green and jerseys floating around the clinic.  It was hard to find even a patient who didn't have their blue/green or Hawk gear on - see even if you're sick, you can still show your Hawk pride!

The guy in the middle is our Friday pediatrician (he also happens to be the vice chair of the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force - whatever that is, but it sounds important) he came in dressed in his usual button down shirt and sweater.  He showed me the sweatshirt he brought, but was too nervous to wear - thought it wasn't professional.  I asked him to dig deep inside and decide just how much he loved the Hawks and did he love them enough to put a smile on all of the kids' faces and change into his Hawk sweatshirt - as you can see, he really loves the Hawks!  And I was right - the kids loved it!

I took an hour of vacation Friday and after the Tailgate headed home to grab the boys and join into the Tailgate party that the city of Snoqualmie was putting on up here on the Ridge!  It did not disappoint.  I absolutely love this community that we live in and adore all of the fun things they decide to spend our tax dollars on to help us all get together, have a beautiful place to live and enjoy ourselves!  Everything was FREE - who can beat that!  My only complaint is I feel the city thinks every household has a stay at home parent because the times they put some of things on is just not conducive to those of us who work.  I didn't mind taking an hour of vacation, but it would've been nice not to have too!  As per the usual - the kids and adults alike had a great time!

The sun was bright as you can see!

GO HAWKS!  (we'll pretend I wrote this before the actual outcome of the game happened)!

An Epic Birthday

I love birthdays, especially my own!  It really is my favorite day of the year - selfish?  Maybe, but I love it!  This year was no special birthday - not a "big number", but it was a HUGE birthday in the sense it was the game of all games to decide if the Seahawks would once again go to the Superbowl or not!  I'm late in getting this post up, so obviously we all know the outcome to that story...but it still goes worth repeating - WE WON!  And not only did we win...we won in the last 2 minutes of the game, that is not even possible, but we did it!!!  I seriously had chills watching the game and that is so unlike me!  I love my Hawks, but not one to usually get chills over the games!

We had some friends over and partied it up :)  I haven't drank in quite sometime, but thankfully it didn't take me long to remember how to do it!  After the game, the girls went to the pub up the street to celebrate the game me some more!!  There were quite a few people trickling in who had actually been at the game - it was pretty cool to get their reactions to the game and having been there.  One of the guys brought in one of the towels they handed out at the game, he gave it to the bartender who pinned it to the wall.  Because I was so sober (ha), I saw that it had the date printed on it and the date just so happened to be my actual birthday (duh), so I kindly asked if I could have it and shockingly...he took it down and gave it to me!  Seriously, something I will treasure, how cool!

One of the best gifts I opened!

Can't tell you the last time I took shots before this - I'd say YEARS.  I think it'll be years again!

Pretty cool guy here!

Hawk Shots - yum!

What a great night!!

New Neighbors

Our friends the Dyk's moved from Bothell to Maple Valley a little over a month ago that makes them pretty much neighbors now!  Instead of seeing them once to twice a year and driving an hour to get there...now we drive about 20-25 mins and have already seen them twice in a month!  I call that a win-win!  Thanks to Matt & Lori for having us over for a BBQ last night - it was a great time!

Watching the Seahawks kick Da' Bears' butts!

This is so funny to me...Lori and I discovered that we have matching tattoo's!  We got them at the same tattoo parlor in college at totally different times (totally different years actually), but never knew the other had it.  Both used to be purple flowers...now they more look like black blobs, but still funny!  Oh and both were drawn freehand by the tattoo artist, not picked from a picture on the wall!    Not sure why I love this so much, but I do!

Super Bowl Champs 2014

WOW!  What a game.  I really don't even know what to say.  I am still in shock.  It's still very surreal that the SEAHAWKS have won a Super Bowl.  We are so happy - Seattle is so happy!  It was long overdue and we deserved this win!!

Big thank you to the Nilsson's and the Wieser's for coming over and celebrating with us - we had a GREAT time!  So much fun was had by all!!!
