BBQ with Friends

Last Sunday we headed down to DuPont to have a BBQ with our friends the Wieser's!!  It was a gorgeous day, so the boys enjoyed playing in the kiddie pool and outside with toys and the adults enjoyed some good food, good drinks and great company!

Josh, Johnny and their cold beverages!

That's my man :)

Zane & Miles in some deep Batman Cave playing!

It was only 90 degrees - why not wear a full Ironman suit!

Berkley is ONE!

My good friend Brenda's daughter Berkley turned the big ONE last week and she had a "Bunny" themed birthday party last Saturday!  The kids had a great time; especially with the bunnies who came to visit for the party!  I must admit - I really enjoyed the bunnies too!!

The Birthday Girl!

Landon loving the bunnies!

He was so gentle with them - little cutie pie!

Berkley and Mommy!

Zane planting his carrot seeds!

Landon trying to figure out how to handle an aggressive girl!

Love this picture of Zane - those eyes!!

Watch out - this kid is on the road!

LEGO Store Bust

Zane finally filled up his sticker chart for his patch therapy this weekend and as promised we took him to get a new Lego set.  He really wanted to go to the Lego store and since I'm a fan of the store too - we agreed to take him there.

We were there yesterday morning just as they were about to open and we found the store completed closed down - black covering all of the windows :(  I called the # for the Lego store to see if maybe I was just at the old location and got a recording that said it was temporarily closed down due to some recent flooding the store had endured.  We were all bummed.

But not for long!  We headed over to Toys R Us and he picked out a lego set there and all is well and happy again!

Sprinkler Fun

Our boys are getting along so well with the little girls next door and lucky for us, Josh and I get along with their parents too!   Every night I guess the girls are asking their mom (Megan) if "the new neighbors are home" - referring to Zane & Landon.  My boys ask every night if "the girls are out" referring to Leah and Allie of course - just cracks me up.  I honestly don't know if any of the kids really remember any of each others names because they are always referring to each other as "the new neighbors or the girls".

Anyways...

The Fourth

Happy Independence Day (a day late)!  We had a great day celebrating America's birthday and our freedom!  Our morning started off with a kiddie parade!  Zane and I were up late the night before decorating his bike and helmet - he could.not.wait to ride his bike in the parade!  After the parade we headed to the community event that was A.W.E.S.O.M.E!  At least 10 bouncy houses, pony rides, a train to ride, rock climbing wall, video game "buses", cotton candy, snow cones - all for free!  The only thing we had to pay for was our $2 slices of pizza for lunch!  This event was amazing and even better that it was within walking distance of our house!  The boys had a blast!  Over and over I am reminded that we did the right thing by moving out here - this is the best place to raise our boys (at least for now anyway)!

Our cute little neighbor girls!

He didn't make it to the top, but he did pretty good!

After Landon (and Daddy's) naps we had dinner and started to set off some fireworks in the front!  Since Josh had to go to work - we had to do them a little early, but didn't phase the boys!  This is the first place we have lived since I was a little kid where fireworks have been legal - so it was pretty cool to do a little more than just sparklers!

I love when I capture a "real" smile!!

Throwin' down some pop-its!

Sparkler time!

LOVE this picture - Zane's face is priceless!

Allie and Landon - they are so stinkin' cute!

Our boys and the neighbor girls watching some fireworks!

After the boys went to bed and Josh headed off to work - I joined our neighbors in the front yard with a beer to watch the folks in the neighborhood who spend a small fortune on fireworks light them off!  It was a great show and one that gladly ended by midnight, so I could still get some sleep before having to go to work today!  I am happy to report that the boys slept right through the dynamite in the sky!

Until next year - Happy Birthday America!

Lake Sammamish

The kids and I got home from work to a sweltering house...Josh was sound asleep in our bedroom where the air conditioner is.  We sat around for a little bit and it was decided (by me) that we needed to get out of the hot house and find some water somewhere!  I packed up our beach bag and we headed to the beach - the first place that I could think of that wasn't too far away was Lake Sammamish.  The Lake is a lot grosser than I remember it being as a kid - but the kids {i.e. Landon} wasn't too grossed out by it - but Zane is kind of like me and found it a little disgusting!  He played in it for a little, but then was happier playing in the sand!  Either way, we all had a great time!
