I just received an email with Zane's basketball photo and team photo - thought I'd share.  And oh, before you say anything or ask - I have no idea what the heck the kid to Zane's right is doing; your guess is as good as mine!

Good-bye Basketball

The boys had their last basketball practices this past Saturday!  They both did really well and both came a long way over the last 2 months; especially Landon!  He went from absolutely hating that hour of his life every week to being somewhat content with it!

Both were pretty excited about their medals!

Shootin' Hoops

Why can't this beautiful spring weather stay around for more than 2 days?  It is such a tease...beautiful the last two days and tomorrow the rain is supposed to be back for the foreseeable future - boo hiss!

We are soaking up whatever Vitamin D we can get - and tonight we did that by heading to Zane's school to shoot hoops and play!

Basketball Shinanigans

The boys are still in basketball every Saturday - secretly can't wait for it to be over!  As hectic as weeknights are, I'd much prefer they did their sports then - I like my Saturdays to be free!  Anyway, couple more weeks to go.  Those couple of weeks seem like a lifetime to Landon - he still is not a lover of the game!  I think he is more not a lover of spending an hour out there and honestly, I too think that is a little long for 3-4 year olds.  I also think he is the youngest kid on his team and he is by far the smallest kid; so I can see how it might not be so "fun" for him.  But he's doing his best and he's doing a great job at making me laugh (and at times lose my mind).

 His coaches are great.  They always make sure that he gets the ball during their "games" and one of them always lifts him up so he can make a basket.  He's the only kid they do that too - probably because he's the smallest and can throw it nowhere near the hoop!  I'm glad they do that - he gets so happy after he "makes a basket" - comes running over telling me "I did it, I did it"!

Zane of course is loving every minute out on the court.  He has to be reminded at times to pass the ball and to not grab/fight for the ball from a teammate - but he's learning!  He is just a plain ol' ball hog to put it bluntly!  But he's doing great - he makes just about every basket he shoots and is really getting good at his dribbling!  I love watching him play.

These pictures aren't of him really playing, but just waiting for his turn to shoot a basket - I just thought he looked cute!

Basketball {Star}

The boys are both still playing basketball on Saturdays...Landon still isn't a huge fan of it, but he is doing better at staying out with his team for most of the hour and not running over to me for most of it!

This is how he "watches" Zane's basketball!

Zane is killing it out there!  I really envy this kid!  When I was a kid (and even still now) anytime I tried a new sport or activity - I had to bust my butt trying to get it and still never ended up being good at it; just not the athletic type I guess. Zane - you put a ball of any sort in his hand and he just takes off and knows what to do with it and does it really well; apparently he takes after his dad.  He is pretty much a ball-hog though; something we are working on - but he's doing great, so you can't really blame him at the same time!

I'm so glad I got this in video!  This was one of many baskets he made during the game and I just love the excitement he has after making it!

I'm sure glad we already paid for the 6 weeks!!  Next time, we'll do a "trial" class I think!
