Sounders

The Sounders had two games this week, one last Thursday and one today! I don't normally get to attend weeknight games because its difficult to find sitters for the kiddos during the week, but my brother came to the rescue on Thursday so I was able to go! It was fun going to an evening game with just my hubby!!



Today, we headed out to the game and took both kids! I have only taken both kids to one other game this year (when Josh was layed up with his gall bladder surgery) and it was a complete disaster, so I was nervous to do it again. I realized that it was a complete disaster last time because it was an evening game and it was very cold. I learned that taking Landon to something that started at his bed time was a very bad idea! Thankfully today's game was a 1:00 game, so out we all went! Both kids did GREAT! The sun was shining, both were in good moods, Landon fell asleep by the end, it was wonderful! Zane was thrilled to get his hair "painted" as he calls it, but wasn't as cooperative in me getting a good picture of him with it painted, haha!

Wedding Ring

Josh lost his wedding ring while kayaking last summer and finally...almost exactly a year later it has been replaced! It really bothered me at first when he wasn't wearing a ring and I'm not sure why, then I just sort of got used to it and didn't even notice, but then at weird times it would start to bother me again. Now that its been replaced and its back on his finger I am very happy!

Swim Lessons 2011

Zane started swimming lessons about a week ago and is doing SO much better than I had anticipated! These are the first lessons where neither Josh or I are in the pool with him. The last couple of times we have taken him swimming for "fun" its been a huge challenge getting him into the water (even with us holding him)...not sure where this new fear of the water came from. Because of those experiences I was going to just be happy if he even got into the pool without throwing a huge fit or without a huge bribe from Josh and I! Turns out...he does better when we aren't in the pool, haha! He is doing really well...still not a fan of putting his face/head under water yet, but he is warming up to the idea! Speaking of bribes...we did tell him that if he puts his head under the water and gets comfortable with it that we'd take him to Wild Waves sometime this summer! We drive by Wild Waves all of the time and he always asks if we can go there, so I think this bribe might just work (hope so, because Josh and I really want to go)!!

Seabrook

Last weekend we took our first family vacation since being a family of 4! We rented a house in Seabrook, WA. If you live in Washington and have never seen or been to Seabrook, we highly suggest you stay there! Seabrook is a little beach resort "town" that was built in 2004 and is just 20 miles past Ocean Shores. We have decided that we will be going back there every summer that we can and making it a family tradition.

The boys did AWESOME. I was worried about the car ride, worried about Landon not wanting to be in his seat for the whole drive and letting us know it, but he did great. I was worried about Zane getting bored in the car, but thankfully his mommy packed a big bag of goodies to keep him busy! My kids are so routine and although that helps make our lives easier it can also cause problems when you tweak the routine sometimes! I was worried about them being off their routines and how they'd adapt to different beds, different "house", different routine for the weekend, but both kids did wonderful, we had no hiccups in their moods at all! I was worried about Zane's blood sugars going nuts due to possible stress, different foods, different weather etc, but they stayed in tack the whole weekend (only one major low the last day). I was worried about Josh and I's bedroom being on a totally different floor than where the kids slept, but there ended up being nothing to worry about, everyone slept wonderful!

Of course the weather was typical Washington coast weather, but it didn't bother us one bit and didn't hold us back from doing anything!

We stayed in a gorgeous house:


Seabrook has its own little marketplace to buy food items you may have forgot at home (just beware the prices of these items could send you into cardiac arrest) and a great little restaurant pub with delicious food.


The whole little "town" looks like something out of Cape Cod/Martha Vineyards or a magazine:


We rode bikes (our house came with two adult bikes and we brought Zane's) and took lots of walks. We only drove our car to get there and walked or rode everywhere the entire weekend!


We played games that were just scattered around the area:

We roasted marshmallows and made s'mores:


We broke the rules and jumped on [and off] the furniture:


We wished daddy a very Happy Father's Day:

And we (as in the kids) slept all the way home:


This was seriously a vacation we won't forget for a long time!

The BIG SHOW!

Zane had his BIG SHOW at Little Gym tonight, it was the conclusion of his semester there! We are SO pleased with how far he has come the last 4 months! He absolutely loves this class and we are sad to see it come to an end. We will be doing gymnastics again this fall (most likely at a different [cheaper] facility), so we will look forward to that!!

Zane was in rare form today with his silly-ness, he was so excited to have all of his family there to watch him and he just couldn't contain his excitement! Josh and I usually pride ourselves on the fact Zane is one of the best listeners in his class, he always stays with the teacher when most of the other kids run wild during class, he follows directions so well and really pays attention to what is being taught to him...that all went out the window tonight!! That kid was running around like a crazy person who just escaped Western State and his listening ears were definitely left at home somewhere, but he had a blast and in the end that is all that matters!!

Not in the mood for peas!

Landon had peas for the first time last night and he wasn't too impressed! He had them again today for lunch and apparently gobbled them up, so maybe he just wasn't in the mood for them for dinner last night! Tonight he had green beans and gobbled those up too!!














Needless to say - he headed straight to the bathtub after this meal!

Baby Natalie

Landon and I stopped by my friend Lisa's on the way home from work the other day to get a quick little baby girl fix! This little girl is so adorable and such a snuggler, I love it!!
