Happy New Year to you and yours! I love starting a new year and starting fresh with new adventures on the horizon - but I'm not one for really celebrating New Years! I like the idea of it...like I'd love to have somewhere to go celebrate it, get dressed up and have an all night sitter...but none of that ever happens. Heck, I rarely ever make it past 10 p.m. on New Years (or any night for that matter)!
This year, Zane asked if he could stay up until midnight. I reluctantly told him "yes"...reluctantly, because that meant I too had to stay up! There was a part of me that was sure he'd never make it...well, he did and I'm happy to report...so did I!
I decided to try to do something fun to help make our time pass a little quicker and give us something to look forward to every hour we were counting down. I think this will a tradition for years to come - just changing up the fun in each bag!
Here's to hoping that 2015 is a rockin' year!

Independence Day {2014}
I sure do love celebrating birthdays...especially our country's! How many other birthdays do you know of that you can shoot explosives off into the sky legally (well, legal in some areas)?! We don't usually do much for the 4th - more homebodies on this special day and this year was no different, but this year we had a few friends come join us and that made it all the more fun!
We started off the morning with the bike parade - the boys and I decorated their bikes and helmets the night prior and they were more than excited to ride them in the parade. Last year, Landon rode in the stroller, so he was pretty pumped to be able to ride his bike this time!
The parade ends at the Community Park where there is a huge carnival waiting for the kids to go crazy at! Bouncy houses, train ride, firetrucks to climb on, food full of sugar to enjoy and total mass chaos! What more could one ask for on this great day?!

After we did our damage there, we headed home for a BBQ with our friends and the kids did a few sparklers before our friends headed home.
Pretty big year for Zane this year - Josh turned the reigns over to him for lighting off most of the fireworks! Zane thought he was pretty cool (and he was)! Landon was already fast asleep - poor thing couldn't stay up late enough. Zane did a great job and is already asking about next year!
Happy 4th of July to everyone!

Happy Easter {2014}
Happy Easter from our family to yours! We had a great day filled with chocolate, eggs, church, family and a reminder of the true reason for this day. He is risen; He is risen indeed!
The boys woke up to fun-filled baskets including their very own Ferby's! Zane is over the moon with his - Landon is a little creeped (rightfully so) of his! Landon's was "sleeping" and he picked it up to walk into the living room with it and it "woke up" and started talking and I thought he was going to have a toddler heart attack...he dropped that thing so fast. I am still laughing about it as I type this, it was pretty hilarious!

After going through their basket loot - we had a yummy bunny breakfast and then headed off to church. Then it was time for more family! We headed to Josh's parents house and had a delicious lunch and another egg hunt for the boys! What a great day!

Hunt & Dye
We headed out to our first Snoqualmie Easter Egg Hunt today and it was a success! I had heard from others to prepare for complete mayhem down there - so I packed my patience and headed down early to make sure we got a parking spot. It was anything but mayhem! It went perfectly. Zane and Landon were in different age groups for the hunt, so I had to stay with Landon and leave Zane to himself to hunt for eggs (which he didn't mind and he was right next to us, so I could see him the whole time). Both collected a basket full of candy filled eggs and had smiles beaming on their faces the entire time - I would call it a success. We opted not to wait in the enormous line to visit the Easter Bunny and thankfully both kids were totally fine with that!
After the hunt was over - we headed home to dye eggs. I would definitely say that we have had prettier eggs in our dying history, but the boys had fun and that's all that matters!
Now both boys are getting ready for bed - they can't wait to go to sleep so the Easter Bunny can come!
