If you are part of PETA or a vegetarian...you may want to skip past this post! Josh has been wanting to smoke a pig in his smoker for quite awhile now...that quite of while came to fruition this past weekend. A few of our neighbors went in on a pig for Josh to smoke...so after about a week of him defrosting in our garage refrigerator...he was ready to be smoked and devoured.
I really thought this whole ordeal would be very traumatizing for the kids...I was wrong. It was more traumatizing for me! The kids thought it was great...every last kid in the neighborhood who saw the pig from start to finish was enamored with it. I on the other hand felt so sorry for this poor Wilbur...but apparently not sorry enough to not eat him...he was delish!
Great job Josh - I know you were nervous about this and researched for hours how to do it just right...you did fabulous!
Per the neighbors...this is now an annual tradition for us...oy.

All I Want for Christmas is my...Two Front Teeth...
Zane lost his two front teeth this week...our neighbor friend Leah lost hers too! The tooth fairy has been very busy on this block!
The first rule of Fight Club...don't talk about Fight Club! A friend of mine replied to this photo with that - cracked me up :)

Camping - 2015
We headed to beautiful Ephrata Washington this weekend to do a little camping! We headed over with 3 other families and all had a great time! I am not a big camper...I like the idea of it, I hate the work and the dirty of it! I'm more of a glamper at heart...but since I don't have a glamper budget, I just suck it up every other year! I loved camping with friends when I was in college and I only had myself to worry about...all I had to pack was a change of clothes a tent that we probably borrowed from someone, food we "bought" at the dining hall and beer...now it's like we bring everything including the kitchen sink! But it's all about building memories for our kids right? So we built some memories this weekend! Now, I think we are good on the memory building for another couple years :)
Two milestones hit on this trip:
#1 - Landon had his first bee sting.
#2 - Zane broke his first bone (pinky toe).
I'm happy to report, both have survived.

Fourth
We had a great 4th of July! The boys participated in the annual community bike parade - decorated their bikes all up the night before and were ready to ride the morning of. The parade ends at the Community Park where there is a huge carnival free to all who come! It's a wonderful event and one we can't wait for every year!
I had fun making the boys' shirts for this year! They only lasted a few hours since they ended up getting soaked at the carnival - but I'm glad that I snapped pictures of them beforehand...I can't promise how well they'll hold up in the wash :)
It was so hot (as you all know) - so we only stayed a couple hours and then came home to cool off and get ready for our neighborhood BBQ! If you follow me on Instagram then you have seen many of these - but I feel I need to document them here too! Allie and Landon are so damn cute - I can't help but snap a million photos of them each time they are together. Trust me, I love my other child just as much - but he's too busy running wild for me to every get photos of him!
This was the first year we let the littles (Allie & Landon) stay up for fireworks - I'm so glad we did, they loved them! This is the last year they are legal up here where we live, so thankfully some of our neighbors went all out and we were able to get one last good local show! No idea what we'll do next year; hopefully the community will put together a show!
I have always wanted to try my hand at capturing words or designs made by sparklers and this year I finally pulled out the tri-pod and did it! I love them! I could use some practice, but I'm happy with what I got without any practice!
Thank you to all the men & women who fight everyday so that we can live in a country filled with freedom! Happy Birthday 'Merica!

Lake Washington
We were so incredibly lucky this past Friday to be invited to a friend of a friends' house right on Lake Washington. Even more lucky that I had already planned to be off at noon that day to play in the sunshine with the boys and Josh - so it worked out perfectly! This house was gorgeous and we couldn't have asked for better weather or company. We all had a great time and hope to be invited back again someday :)
