Vacuums.

This kid has the biggest fascination with vacuum cleaners right now. He is constantly opening up the hall closet where its kept and pointing to it and cries when we tell him no, that we aren't going to vacuum right now and make him shut the door.

The other night we were at Sears doing some appliance shopping and as I was looking around Josh let Zane roam for awhile (w/dad in tow of course) and the kid headed straight to the vacuums and wanted to play with them all.

I stopped by my favorite consignment shop in town tonight to look for a few things for Zane and as I was looking around he headed off to look at the toys as usual and look what he found...I couldn't pass it up for only $5!

He was soooo excited about this new toy and was less than thrilled when I made him sit down for dinner and to stop playing with it.

I sure hope he is still this excited about helping me clean when he's 13!

Balloons.

Zane has been crazy about balloons lately. Everytime we are in a store and they are hanging around, he immediately points to them and smiles. The other day while grocery shopping, he spotted some and I couldn't help, but get him a "Zane-size" balloon to play with. He played with this thing non-stop for two days until the stick broke and became too dangerous to play with anymore!

Zane with our good friend Lisa; he absolutely adores her!

Pizza Pizza!

We had pizza for dinner tonight and I had cut up a few pieces of it and put it on Zane's plate, but as soon as he saw me coming to the table with my piece he wanted it. I tried pointing out to him that he had the same thing on his plate, but he wanted a whole piece, so that's what he got. I couldn't believe how he chowed down on that thing. I guess he likes it!

New Tricks.

Zane presented two new tricks to us last Saturday. The first was proving to us he is an escape artist in the making! He was up in his crib taking a nap...or supposed to be taking a nap. I could hear him via the monitor talking and playing instead of sleeping, but figured after a bit he'd finally get himself to sleep. He rarely fights naps and usually goes right down, so this was something new. As I'm sitting downstairs listening to him "talk", I was just getting to the point to go up there and reinforce to him that it was nap time and it was time to sleep when all of a sudden I heard a loud THUD and then him scream/cry. I ran upstairs and as I got closer to his door I could hear him standing at the door...what???? Yep, the little booger escaped his crib! Thankfully, we still had one more notch we could lower the mattress, so Josh took care of that right away and he hasn't tried it since! Hopefully he's learned his lesson because I'm not ready to put him in a toddler bed yet; although a toddler bed is better than him possibly breaking a bone jumping out of his crib! Sorry no pictures of that trick seeing as how I hadn't set up my nanny-cam yet, haha!

Zane's 2nd trick is he's apparently learned how to take off his pants. He was playing in the living room after his nap (yes, he finally did lay down and take one after calming down from his jump) and I was in the kitchen and I looked into the other room and saw him taking off his pants!! Goofball! He hasn't tried it again since, but gave me a good laugh this time!

Sounders FC!

We are the proud owners of season tickets to the Seattle Sounders FC! I have never really been that into soccer seeing as how I went to such small schools growing up, that was really never a sport offered, but what I do know of it I've liked. Josh on the other hand played for 12 years growing up and is a big fan; so I am becoming a fan with him! Tonight, Josh gave me a crash course on the game and off we were to the Inaugural game of the season and of the Sounders FC! The game was sold out!! We had such a good time and I can't wait for the next one! The best part is...our tickets include free food...woohoo!!!

The view from our seats...not too shabby!

Drew Carey!

No explanation needed on who these folks are!

My friend Andrea who by mear coinsedence has season tickets with her husband the row behind us and 3 seats down! What a small world!

The end of the game. Sounders FC 3 and New York Red Bulls 0!!!!

Pink Eye.

Yup, you read the title right...pink eye. Zane can't catch a break these days, he just finished his antibiotics for his Pneumonia on Friday and Sunday he develops pink eye. Thankfully one of my best friends Jen is an Optometrist and happened to be babysitting Zane when the pink eye came on, so she knew right what to do; she even had some antibiotics for him at her house...score! Today, she called some stronger antibiotics into the pharmacy and after 3 doses of the new drug he has developed an allergic reaction (rash all over his body), so we are back to the original ones she gave us + Benedryl. Oh, and the pink eye started in the right eye yesterday, but has already spread to the left as well...fun stuff, I guess the pharmacist wasn't kidding when she said it spreads like wildfire!

*Don't worry ladies who we are having lunch with on Saturday...he will not be contagious then, so we are all good and your kids are safe!!

Being sick is no fun.

Poor Mr. Zane was just told today that he has Pneumonia. He's had this horrible cough/cold for almost a month now and I'd talked to the doctor about it, but she kept saying its just viral, give him plenty of fluids and rest etc...so that is what we had been doing. Then yesterday daycare called to let me know that he had a fever. I talked to the doctor before I went to pick him up (handy having her office next door to my office) and she said if he still had a fever in the morning that she wanted to see him. Sure enough, the little man had a fever this morning, so into work with me he went. Once in the appointment the doc was still just writing it off as a virus and gave me the same shpeal of plenty of fluids and rest etc. Then at the end of the visit she decided to send him up for a chest x-ray to "make sure we weren't missing anything". I can't tell you how "pleased" I was to hear her tell me he had Pneumonia..."pleased" because that meant we finally had an answer and could get some antibiotics for it!!! So we started the Amoxicilin tonight and we'll see how it goes! The good thing is, the doc said he is not contagious so he can go back to daycare on Friday (after two days at home with plenty of rest and meds)! I don't like using my PTO to sit at home with a sick kid, I'd much rather use it to...I don't know....do something fun!!!

This is pretty much how the day went today...he'd be fine playing for awhile...

Then rest for awhile...

Then sit on the couch under a blanket drinking some ice cold milk!

Temper Tantrum

Zane was a little mad that I locked the door to the garage on him so he couldn't escape. How could I be so mean to not let him go frolic in the dark garage alone while I cooked dinner? Sorry its kind of dark...I figured turning on the light would only make him more mad :)
