This is purely for documentation purposes, so I don't forget! As much as Diabetes sucks most of the time - there are times when something funny happens that makes you realize there really are some silver linings to some very dark clouds!
Two a.m. this morning I am awoken to Zane saying ever so quietly and sweetly "Mom...mommy..." I'm in a dead sleep and am finally able to get my voice to work "what, what Zane, what's wrong"...I then hear "I'm high...I think I'm high"!
It wasn't funny at 2 a.m. - but it was sure funny to me this morning after I thought about the conversation. If you didn't know him and didn't know he had Diabetes, it would be pretty odd to hear a 6 year old tell his mom that he was
high! Sure to get some strange looks out in public had the conversation happened there!
And in case you were wondering - he was indeed high. Poor kid had a blood sugar of 458 (normal is between 80-150). He's such a smart kid, even at 2 a.m.!
And because no post is worth your time without a picture...
