Blast from the past

Tonight was an awesome night! I got to hang out with two of my highschool girlfriends and their kiddos! Although, I had the opportunity to visit with Bethany last summer, I haven't seen Sarah since graduation! We met up at Red Robin with all of our kids (6 kids and 3 adults...Red Robin was glad to see us go) and I was worried about there being some awkardness, but nope...it was just like old times and the kids got a long great!

After we ate, we decided to head over to the mall play area, so the kids could run wild and us girls could chat it up! It was sad to say good-bye, because Bethany is moving to Alaska in a few weeks, but it I know Sarah and I will have many more playdates in the future!

Walking over to the mall:

KidsQuest

The boys and I hung out with Grandma & Grandpa Arizona today since it would be the last time we saw them while they were in town! They treated us to lunch and then to KidsQuest Children's Museum! Zane had a blast! It was so good to hang out with them again and we hope its not another 18 mos before we see them again.

Grandpa just can't get enough of Landon!

Zane's favorite thing by far was the water toys:

Mama Bear had to step in when these two bullies kept picking on my little cubby bear, urgh!

Don't worry, Landon enjoyed himself as well:

Impossible to get a picture with all three of them looking and smiling at the camera:

Puyallup Fair 2011

Not only did we wait until the last day of the fair to go this year, but we waited until the stormiest day of Fall so far to go as well! The weather was very schizo last Sunday and couldn't decide if it wanted to be sunny, drizzle, or outright downpour...lets just say it did all of the above multiple times! We were determined to not let the crazy weather damper (or dampen) our time!

As usual Zane enjoyed all of the rides:

Notice the change in the clouds from the last picture to these ones:

Here is how Landon spent most of the fair:

And now the rain hit and hit hard! Thankfully, when we got there they were handing out Ikea re-useable bags since they were sponsoring the fair that day...Josh tied them around the stroller to keep Zane dry (Landon was on my back in the Ergo and covered up):

We decided to head inside for a little bit and wait for the rain to die down some and dry off a little. We headed into the petting zoo! Last year, Zane went in with me, but refused to touch many of the animals...this year, he couldn't wait to get his hands on them. Notice how drenched we are and that I have a beach towel wrapped around my waste trying to help keep Landon warm and dry, haha.

And we ended the fair with Zane scoring a large Spiderman blow up from Grandpa Hay. Notice the sun shining as we walk back to our car...see schizo weather!

Grandma & Grandpa Arizona

My dad and Holly FINALLY came up to visit after living in Arizona for over a year! They also FINALLY had the opportunity to meet their newest grandchild...little Landon! We went over to my auntie Marian's last Saturday evening to visit for a bit and we look forward to spending all day Friday with them! I miss them so much when they are gone, sucks that we haven't seen them in so long, but we'll cherish the time we have with them here!

Soccer & Sounders

Zane had his usual soccer last Saturday and Josh was pretty tired from working late the night before and Landon was already down for his morning nap, so just Zane and I headed down to his practice. I over-estimated the time of the drive and we got down there a little early so I let him play on the playground for a little while.

After playing for a bit, we started to walk over to his practice and bumped into Mario Rosales, one of the Seattle Sounders starting players!! Mario had hurt his knee in the last game, so he was there training instead of up in Vancouver with the rest of the starters! I asked him if he would mind taking a picture with Zane and he humored me and said no problem! Zane was a little confused at first, but couldn't stop talking about it afterwards of course!

We wished him good luck and headed into practice! A very cool experience for me...I knew Josh would be very jealous that he missed this practice...and he was!!

Ahoy Mateys!

Seeing the Pirates at the beach today got Zane in the mood to play pirates! I reminded Zane on the way home that he has a pirate costume in his closet...we couldn't get home fast enough for him to get that thing on! He wore it the rest of the evening, goofball!

Did you know pirates drove Mini Coopers?!!

Did you know pirates eat all of their dinner?!!

He is such a good, cute lil' pirate!!

T1 Picnic

On Sunday the kids and I headed up to Golden Gardens park in Ballard for a picnic for Type 1 kiddos and their families. The rain was dumping that morning, so I was a little hesitant, but thankfully the rain let up and we ended up having a good time! Zane had a blast playing in the sand and Landon had fun being carried around like a joey kangaroo!

I think the kids were pretty jealous of the party going on at the shelter next door though...some kid was having a pirate birthday party and they had the real Seafair Pirates there, very cool! I saw them when we first drove in, so I made a u-turn and drove by them again slowly so Zane could get a good look, he thought it was the coolest thing ever! He really liked their pirate car!

Daddy!

Josh had to work all weekend, but on Saturday he ended up only having to work 4 hours (which was not originally planned, so we were excited)! I was planning on taking the boys out to dinner that night, but once Josh let me know he was getting off at 5:30, we decided to meet up with him for dinner! We met down at the Landing for some Five Guys, some of the best burgers in town...at least to us anyway! We walked out of the parking garage and around the corner and as soon as Zane saw Josh he started yelling "daddy, daddy" and took off running towards him, it was very cute!

The Landing happens to be right across the street from Josh's building, so he had to show Zane which one he worked in!

Impossible to get a picture with everyone looking and smiling at the camera!

Foot Clapper

He can't clap with his hands yet, but he sure is pretty darn good at clapping with his feet!

Fun in the sun

While Josh and I headed up to Bellingham Saturday night for the Campbell/Higgins shin-dig the boys stayed the night with G&G Alexander. Thankfully the sun was heating up western WA this weekend as well, so the boys had a lot of fun outside! I took these pictures when we got there on Sunday to pick them up!

Love that I caught this step by step on camera:
