On to round 2!

Thank you to anyone who voted for Zane in Movin 92.5's Baby Idol contest yesterday! He has been moved onto round 2!!!!! The contest started out with 6000 kids this last week and with all of the votes tallied, they narrowed it down to the top 500!!!! AWESOME, we are so excited. Even if he doesn't win, just knowing he was in the cut from 6000-500 is a pretty cool story to tell him later!

NOW, on Wednesday, April 2, you can vote again. The contest then narrows it down from 500-100! Another big cut. So if you can, please log onto www.movin925.com on Wednesday, April 2 and vote every 10 mins that you are available to do so! The voting will end Thursday, April 3 at 8:59 a.m.

Thank you again everyone!!

Spring? Winter? I'm Confused...

We woke up to some white stuff on the ground today! It was very exciting to me because this whole year we have never had any snow at our house that has stuck, so I've never been able to take Zane out into it. So when I woke up this morning to the snow, I couldn't help but create a photo-op! We didn't get much, just a light dusting, but it was better than nothing. I can't wait until next year when he can run around in the snow!

So Tired

I don't know why I find this so cute, but in Zane's 4th month of life outside the womb he has developed a new "skill". When he is tired he rubs his eyes. I know that is so normal and you are probably thinking "big deal", but it is to me because he had never done it before. He would cry when he was tired, but not do the physical sign of rubbing his eyes. I just find it adorable...I guess since I'm his mom I'm allowed too!!

Happy Easter!

Here is our little Easter Bunny Zane! Josh isn't a big fan of the ears since they have pink on them...oh geez! But Zane was cool enough to leave them on for a few pictures. Our Easter was low-key which was FABULOUS! We just had my grandma over for brunch and the rest of the day the 3 of us Alexander's just hung out! Back to work tomorrow. We hope you all had a great Easter holiday.

1st and Last (for awhile) Cereal!

So in the past few weeks we've had quite the regression with Zane's sleeping at night. He was the typical newborn getting up every couple hours or more...then slowly progressed into sleeping through the night by 10 weeks! Oh how elated we were! Well, it was short lived. He started to wake up once a night and then sometimes twice to now we are back at almost every 2 hours!! UGH! We are so frustrated! Anyway, I was talking to a nurse at work about it and she said to try giving him cereal before bed as it should fill him up enough to sleep longer at night, maybe even through the night again. Josh and I had awhile back decided we weren't going to do cereal until 5.5 months or closer to 6, but with the lack of sleep upon on us, we decided we'd be willing to try just about anything. SO...Friday night was our first attempt. He did "ok", but wasn't thrilled with the cereal process. I don't think he really got any of it down the hatch and to top it off, he slept worse than the previous nights. So I thought it was a fluke and tried it again last night and if you can believe it...it was even worse than the previous night. To say the least we are going to go back to our original plan and wait until closer to 6 mos to try it again and just deal with the nightly feedings! Here are a few pictures of his first cereal adventure though!

All Boy!

So my mom bought Zane the coolest shirt ever! The look on his face when I took this picture makes me think he already knows what it says and has already done the deed! I think I'm in for it come potty training time!

Busy Weekend

We had a fun-filled busy time this weekend. Early Sunday morning, Zane's cousins flew in from Idaho and he had never met them before, so that was fun. Later Sunday morning, Zane was baptized at church. He did so good, he didn't cry at all through the entire hour long service and when the pastor was putting the water on his head, he looked so content...I think he thought it was bath-time with his clothes on! I took today off since we still had family in from Idaho. I think it will be a surprise for him tomorrow morning when I drop him off at daycare since he spent last Thursday & Friday with me at work and all of this weekend and today! He hasn't had 5 days in a row with me in a long time! I enjoyed every minute of it and will miss putting him back in daycare tomorrow, but I know duty calls. He is already off into dreamland for the night, but I know in a few hours he'll wake me from my slumber for a snack! Oh, how I wish he'd sleep all night again (he used too but has totally regressed into getting up twice a night)! Here are a couple pictures of Zane in his baptism outfit (Josh calls him Mr. Preppy) and a couple pictures of him with his cousin Kaylin.

Another day at the office...

So on Thursday (3/6/08) I arrived at Zane's daycare as I always do around 7:15 a.m. I walked in and his daycare lady didn't look well. I asked her what was wrong and she explained to me that she was really sick (stomach/bathroom issues sick). I was upset at first that she hadn't called me, but she insisted it was just food poisoning. Since I work at a medical clinic and hear what is going around I knew better and knew it was the flu bug going around. She thought since it was "food poisoning" that she could still take him as it wouldn't be contagious...I wasn't going to take any chances. I don't mind him catching a cold here and there, but not the stomach bug...because I don't want him to share it with us! Anyway, I had no choice since I had already driven 30 miles that day to get to daycare/work, but to take him with me. Thankfully, my boss and coworkers were ok with it, as I had no back up. So, Zane spent all day Thursday and Friday with me at work and he did a FANTASTIC job. I couldn't believe how good he did. He never cried and took his normal naps and everything! One of my coworkers took him on an hour walk both days over her lunch, he really enjoyed that!
