Two Months

Landon,

I cannot believe that 2 months has gone by since you were brought into this crazy family! We are all starting to get to know each other a little better and maybe just maybe starting to figure each other out a little more!

This last month has brought on a few new milestones for you. You are officially smiling on command now...that is if you call command me making silly noises at you or touching your nose while making silly noises! You are also starting to "coo" and I love it! You can see the little wheels turning in your head when you want to make a noise come out on your command and when you finally get it going you keep on going!

This is you trying to get a "coo" out!

You are still a baby that would prefer to be held 24/7, but you have finally learned to be somewhat content for a short-while on your play mat or on a blanket on the floor just long enough for me to empty the dishwasher!

I think what I am most pleased about over the last month is your sleeping habits! You went from sleeping a total of 3-4 hours a night to sleeping 6-7 hours straight a night right around 5-6 weeks. You have a hiccup of a night here and there, but those are a lot easier to tolerate now since they aren't every night! Now if we can get you to learn that just because you slept 7 hours and wake up at 3 or 4 am, that doesn't mean its time to be up for the day!! Yes, technically it is morning and technically you did sleep what most adults sleep in a full night, it is still not acceptable to stay awake once you wake up when its that early!

My next sleeping goal for you to achieve is to nap on your own (i.e. without needing to be held) for more than 30 mins! If I hold you, you will sleep 2 hours, but if you are on your own, its 30 mins tops usually! Don't worry kid, we'll get there, mommy's just happy you have your days and nights finally figured out.

Here are all swaddled up and ready to go to bed:

I think your favorite time of day is bath-time! You looooove to be naked...then again, who doesn't, right?! As soon as I lay you down on your changing table and start undressing you for your bath, you get the biggest smile on your face! You can be a very un-happy baby and as soon as that onesie slips over your head, you are a totally different person!

You definitely still have your moments, but even in those moments, you are still adorable!!

Happy Two-Month Birthday little man, we love you so much and can't wait to see what the next month brings!

One Month

Landon,

I cannot believe you are a month old! On some occasions this month has seemed to take forever and on other occasions it seems like this month just flew by! You are for sure a more challenging baby than I thought I had signed up for! We are still trying to work through things to figure what it is we need to do to make you happy and comfortable! We are switching formula's, trying different gas remedies, colic remedies and so far we haven't found the "one thing" to help you, but I promise you that we will!

Here are a few things we do know about you so far:
You insist on being held at all times unless in a deep-deep sleep which isn't often.

You do not like to be swaddled.
You enjoy being in the Moby sling.
You love to look at your big brother if he's in your face (which is often)!
You prefer to be up for hours at night instead of just waking up to eat...when you're up, you're up!
You do not know how to put yourself to sleep, but this is something I am going to work on with you very soon!
You are so alert these days, I love to see your eyes and pretend that I know what you are trying to focus on.
You are starting to make more expressions with your face, I am anxious for the first real smile.

You enjoy tummy time for the most part and a lot of times fall asleep in the middle of it.

You have the best big brother anyone could ask for!

Landon, you are a HUGE blessing in our lives and I would do anything for you! We love you very much.

Happy One Month Birthday Little Man.
