First Snow!!

Continued...

I woke up around 7 a.m. yesterday when I heard Landon in the bathroom...he was barfing again. Poor kid.  He slept all night with no sickness and bam as soon as he wakes up - it continues.  I again got him set up on the couch and I'm happy to report that he hit the bowl each time :) it's the little things!

We didn't have time for sickness today (had to miss a 2nd birthday party due to it) - it was SNOWING!!  As soon as I told Landon it was snowing, he says "are you serious?", haha!  Yes, buddy I am.  He perked up enough to go out and play in it for about 20 mins after Zane woke up!

He sure looked good in these pictures...but the sick-saga continued for much of the day unfortunately. Then all of a sudden around 5 p.m. - he was over it and was hungry!  He ate two BBQ sandwiches and plenty of crackers...all stayed down and he even went to school today!  Woohoo!  So glad that was a quick one.  NOW, lets all hope, pray and cross our fingers that Zane doesn't get it; my worst fear!

You may notice my poor neglected rag-a-muffin child Zane wearing size 5 snow pants (he's a 10) and a too small jacket and tennis shoes because he doesn't have any snow boots.  It didn't phase him one bit, but I couldn't stop laughing at his high-waters, poor kid!  We didn't have ANY snow last year, there was no reason to go out and buy snow gear, so he had nothing.  Landon of course has all of Zane's hand-me-downs, so had no problem being prepared!  You'll be happy to know that I ordered Zane new boots, snow pants and a winter jacket and it all should be here this week - because they are predicting more snow next week; yahoo!

Halloween Monsoon

O.M.G - I cannot remember in life when it has ever rained this hard on Halloween as it did this year. I remember many Halloweens as a kid where it rained or where it was really cold and we'd have to bundle up under and sometimes over our costumes - but never like this year.

It was so wet and so cold, but the boys stuck with it for about 2 hours - it was amazing!  I did not have my thinking cap on though and totally didn't even think about putting rain boots on Landon or a waterproof jacket on Zane (not that he would've obliged anyway, but still I could've tried), but I'm happy to report both survived!  To make them feel better, I didn't have waterproof shoes on either, so my feet too were soaked :)  Misery loves company!

I present to you: Rebel from Paw Patrol and a Sounders player (with stitches - that was a very important detail that had to be added last minute)!

Alexander Apple Orchard

Today was a great day for pickin'...pickin' apples that is!  We have two apple trees in our backyard and they were overflowing with ripeness!  The kids picked and picked and picked.  After giving plenty of bags full to the neighbors, we still have 5 bags left over.  I'm guessing we'll have some apple pie and applesauce coming our way soon...if the fairy every comes back from her strike :)

Parkour

As with most kids these days, my boys are OBSESSED with American Ninja Warrior!  Zane wants nothing more than to be on it as soon as he's old enough and Landon cannot wait another week until we can watch it again!

To get a little of their ANW energy out - they started parkour last week.  The coolest thing to the boys about this parkour gym is the warp wall of course!  The coolest thing to me is that their coach is an ANW veteran :)...he didn't make it crazy far, but he at least knows what he's talking about and the kids love that!

The kids are loving parkour!  I don't think it's something we'll do long term (it's a little pricey), but for now it's going well and we'll stick with it a month or so!  Zane is also going to have his birthday party there - can't wait!

Railroad Days Kids 1k

The boys ran in the Railroad Days Kids 1k today!  Zane came in 5th overall and Landon thinks he came in 3rd...I decided to let him believe he came in 3rd for the 4 year olds; he seemed to be ok with that!

Clearly we had to get up a little early for the run :)

Date Night

I got home from work tonight and within about 5 minutes could tell that Josh had had his fill of the boys for awhile!  With summer winding down and their restlessness and never-ending bickering sometimes - I can totally understand why!  I decided to take the boys out for awhile and give him a bit of a break...yes, I'm such a nice wife like that!  You're welcome Josh!

After a trip to a couple stores, we ended up at Red Robin for dinner.

Landon chose what he wanted from the menu...the pepperoni pizza (which comes with a smiley face of pepperoni).  When the waiter came to take our order, I let him know that Landon wanted the smiling pizza and Landon chimed in and said "no, I want a sad face pizza"...well, apparently, its an ask and you shall receive sort of motto at Red Robin :)

Maybe it was sad to be going into someone's tummy!
And ketchup with apples?  Because why not!  This kid dips EVERYTHING in ketchup if it's available to him.

Egg Drop|Museum Fun

Josh took the boys over to the library last week to take part in an "Egg Drop".  The boys had to construct something for an egg to be in and dropped in and hope the egg didn't break!  Both boys succeeded!

After the Egg Drop they headed down to the Burke Museum!  We made a Summer Bucket List (more to come on that) and one of the items on there was to go to the Burke Museum (Zane's pick - kid LOVES museums like his daddy).  I on the other hand am not a fan of museums at all...so I'm glad they decided to cross this one off the list when I was at work :)  Thanks babe!
