King Tut

We had the opportunity to go to the King Tut exhibit on its last day here in Seattle (Jan 6).  Zane was VERY excited about this!  Somehow he had heard about this exhibit from someone at school so had been asking about it.  When we told him we'd be going the following day, he spent quite a bit of time the night before looking at pictures of King Tut on the computer - so he was very excited to see it in person the next day.  Unfortunately, you cannot take pictures while in the exhibit - but you can enjoy pictures of my boys outside of the exhibit enjoying the science center!

Monster Trucks

Our good buddy Tate came down with the stomach flu on the day he was supposed to accompany his dad to the Monster Jam at the Tacoma Dome.  I received a text that morning from Sean asking if we wanted their tickets.  I originally said no because Josh was at work all day and I had no one to watch Landon.  I then thought about it more and was pretty sure I could find someone to watch Landon so got back into touch with Sean and thankfully the tickets were still available!!!  My mom was more than happy to watch the little man, so off Zane and I went!!!

Really not sure what we were looking at here...

Thanks again Tate and Sean...sorry you were sick though buddy :(

Tent

Zane's teacher set up a little tent in their classroom a couple of weeks ago and the kids were able to earn their turn to sleep in it for nap time.  Everyday he would tell me who was chosen to sleep in the tent and one day after picking him up he had the exciting news to let me know HE was the one chosen to sleep in the tent that day!  He was so proud of himself...as we were too of course!  I snapped a quick picture of him before leaving that day - it was dark in the room and my phone camera sort of sucks, so bear with it.

PS Not all of the kids were chosen to sleep in the tent before the teacher took it down...so it was a real honor to Zane to be picked to sleep in it one day!

He's a well-child with a tad delay...

Landon had his 2 year well-child visit on January 4 (yes, I am WAY behind in my blogging) - he is healthy!  He was such a good sport during his entire appointment - no crying, no fussing, just happy as a clam!  He barely shed a tear for his shot even!  The only slight concern the doctor had (which as you know, I had too) was his verbal skills are a little delayed.  The doctor said that he isn't really concerned, its most likely just "2nd child syndrome" (where the older child talks for the younger one so much the younger one doesn't feel the need to talk himself), but he did say that he is a little more sensitive to any speech delays because his own son had a significant one.  To be sure, he put in a referral for Landon to have a Speech Evaluation done.  We have our appointment set for January 23rd and will report back then!

But regardless of his small speech delay, he is a very healthy and happy 2 year old and there is NOTHING we'd change about him!

Monkey PJ's

I pulled out a pair of "new to Landon" jammies tonight after bath and was lucky enough to find an old pic (or 2) of Zane wearing them!  This is the first time I've thought about looking for a picture of Zane wearing something he's handed down to Landon...sort of fun to compare.  Are we sure they are brothers?  I can't get over how different they look!!

Fun Center Birthday Party

Our friends the Serna family were in town for Christmas (they moved to Tennesee almost a year ago due to the military) and it just so happens that two of their three boys have birthdays right around now...so they had a birthday party at the Family Fun Center this past weekend.  It was so great to see them and of course to play at the Fun Center...my boys love it there!

Not sure I can count how many times this kid flew down this slide...he loved it!
Zane and "big" Landon as he is referred to when "little" Landon is around!
He LOVES pizza...can you tell?!
Little Miss Vivienne eating her pizza!!
Goofball!
David - one of the birthday boys...and unfortunately I didn't get his brother Joshua's picture.  David turned 5 on 12/20 and Joshua turns 2 on 1/10.
He was playing "avoid the camera"...its a fun game to him!
Zane playing one of the many games they have there.

Landon's Birthday Night

I always try to take at least a half a day off work for my boys' birthdays...but my boss took all of last week off for vacation, so I wasn't able to take anytime off.  I figure Landon will be too young to remember and I knew he was going to be treated well at Tracey's, so I tried not to feel too bad about it.

Once we got home, we headed out for dinner to BJ's at Southcenter!  Our service was pretty terrible, but we made the best of it and enjoyed our TWO year old's special night!

After dinner, we headed home for cupcakes!!  Sorry for the photo dump, but I couldn't pick just one favorite!

After cupcakes it was time for presents...although, poor 2nd child with a Christmas birthday, his gift wasn't here yet (still isn't, ugh - darn postal service).  So all he had to open was Zane's gift...but again, he doesn't know the difference and just enjoyed opening something!!

Happy Birthday little man - I still can't believe you are 2!  You are one cute kid!
