Siebol's

We headed over to Derek and Emma's on Saturday night for a delicious dinner and fun play time for the kids!  Landon and their son Bjorn are only about a month a part, so it was fun to watch them interact (or not interact - still playing parallel at this age).  Its so funny to watch Zane get into a room with a bunch of baby toys...he goes to town playing like he's 2 again.  He doesn't really do that at home (maybe because we don't have a lot of "baby toys" around anymore already), but whenever we go to friends' houses who do have them, he just goes crazy.

Derek was unlucky enough to fall into Lake Washington in early September and cut his leg on a big rock and it wasn't the embarrassment of falling into a lake fully clothed that was so unlucky.  It was that he contracted a flesh eating bacteria (the same one the girl back east {I think is where she lived} contracted this past summer after falling off a zipline and she lost 2 of her limbs {maybe more, I can't remember}).  It took 3 trips to the ER before a doctor actually diagnosed him with it (thanks to his wife who had a feeling that is what it was and was very persistent on their last trip in) - precious time was lost when something that serious had invaded his body.  Thankfully he was put on a crazy cocktail of antibiotics (one was the same one used to treat anthrax poisoning) and after spending a week in the hospital he was free to go home and finish up his antibiotics there and thank God he kept all of his limbs.

Anyway, that was a total side-note story, but one I felt worth mentioning because its something you hear about on the news from time to time, but something you don't think will ever happen to you or anyone you know.

Back to our night - we had a great dinner and great time catching up and the boys all had a great time playing!!

I love how Landon always leans in for the picture when he's in it with someone else!

Engrossed into a movie!  Landon cried the whole way home when we had to leave that dog behind!
