Beat the Heat

I am not complaining at all - but it has been HOT the past couple days and is supposed to be for the next few days too!  I LOVE IT, but that doesn't mean it doesn't get a little uncomfortable at times!  Thankfully we have people in our life who have backyards big enough for little pools for the kids to cool off in!  We headed over to Lisa & Daniel's yesterday so she and I could go get pedicures and the dad's could watch the kids in their backyard pool!  It was a win-win for all of us!

Parks and Deers

The boys and I headed out to a couple parks yesterday morning before it got too hot - or before I thought it would be too hot!  It was already scorcthing by the time we got there - the slides were too hot to go down...but the boys found other fun things to do of course!

On our walk home - we ran into a couple deer having their lunch in a neighbor's garden!  I am always amazed at how tame the deer are.  They don't seem too spooked by noise, they notice you are watching them and they'll just look at you and continue eating flowers!  They just calmly walk away when they are finished.  Its a reminder that we are in their neighborhood, but thankfully they are nice enough to let us move in and do our thing!  If we leave them alone, then I guess they'll leave us alone!

Reunited - Max

When we moved we did not move our beloved cat Max with us.  We were very fortunate that my in-laws decided to take him last minute so he didn't wind up on death row at a shelter!  Max has been a part of our family for 11 years, so we are very happy that we can still see him from time to time!  Landon and Max really have a special bond - so it is really neat to see the two of them reunite from time to time!!

Camp Mason

The boys were invited to my friend Lori's son Mason's 4 year birthday party on Saturday!  His cute little theme was "Camp Mason" - great weather for a camping themed birthday party!  There was an adorable little scavenger hunt set up for the kids to gather their party favors and put in their new camp bags that they were able to color!  After the scavenger hunt, it was lunch and then water time!  The boys had a blast on the slip-n-slide - I got some great videos, but since I'm at work and can't upload them to the blog right now, you'll have to suffer through a ton of cute pictures instead!

Cute Kid

Josh is selling a lot of his old video game systems and games on Craigs List - he has a buyer on hand for the old Ninetendo ones so he just had to pull them out of the garage and test them out last night!  It was a great excuse to show Zane sort of how things were when we were kids and playing video games!  Personally, I think they were a lot easier for him to grasp then the controlers and such now days - but then again, he rarely plays any video games, so that's probably why!  Anyway - they had fun and I thought it was too cute not to take a picture of!

When I got to Zane's school to pick him up yesterday, this is what he looked like - cracked me up!  He said that he and some other boys got "too hot", so they decided to just wear their undershirts!
