Snow-Birthday

All I can say is be careful for what you wish for...you might just get it and then some!  I was so hoping we'd get some snow last night and well...I think we received enough snow to last until...well at least this weekend when it warms up and all melts away!

I really was planning on going to work today, but after talking to Landon's daycare and learning that no one was getting on or off her street I figured work wasn't worth me risking personal injury or loss (and thankfully my boss agreed)!

So instead of work, I was able to have a snow day with my babies and have the special treat of actually seeing Josh on my birthday (since he works nights, I normally wouldn't have seen him [awake] until Saturday)!

First thing I saw when I walked downstairs this morning - so sweet!!

After Josh and the kids were up, fed and dressed - Josh and Zane headed out to clear the driveway and cars off and of course they also got in a little play time!

Zane is starting to get a bit of a cold, so I limited his time outside today a little bit.  After having him come in from helping daddy clean off the cars - he and his clothes warmed up by the fire!

Landon is starting to transition to only 1 nap, but sometimes I can still squeeze two out of him.  I was thinking and hoping today was one of those days since his morning nap was kind of early.  I was wrong!  After letting him "talk" up in his crib for about 45 mins while Zane was snoozing away, I decided to bring him down and have a little 1:1 time with my littlest guy!  I'm glad I did, he snuggled for a bit, was full of smiles, in a great mood and played independently very well (once I brought the tub of Hotwheels out for him)!

Once Zane got up from his nap - I decided I didn't want to cook myself dinner on my birthday and we ventured out to meet up with Christina and Brooklyn for dinner at Red Robin!  The main roads weren't too bad - but you definitely had to take it very slow - little dicey in areas for sure!  Tomorrow's commute to work should be very interesting!

{pay no attention to Landon flipping off the camera here - maybe he wasn't happy with his meal?}

I had a wonderful birthday and loved having the nice surprise of staying home and spending time with the ones I love most in this world!   Funny, becoming another year older really doesn't seem to matter when you feel like your life is complete!

Are there cars in heaven?!

Anytime Landon gets his hot little hands on the Rubbermaid full of Hotwheels you would think that kid had died and gone to heaven.  When Landon gets really excited about something he starts to "dance" or that's what I call it.  He gets a big smile on his face and either starts jumping up and down (while holding on of course) or just going up in down in a "squat" like position while keeping his feet planted on the floor - whatever it is, its freakin' adorable!

Here is the best I could do at capturing his "dance" moves...

Here Landon is showing me one of his treasures...

And sometimes, he likes to eat his cars....each is to their own I guess!

And a couple of random shots having nothing to do with cars - but just because I find my boys cute:

Here Landon is having a face-off with Max - as you can see Max is very frightened!

Mall

After Josh went to work this afternoon the boys and I headed to Southcenter for a bit - after looking around for awhile the boys headed to the play area!  Always a good time for them!

After playing we headed to Jamba Juice (Zane's request) - no pictures to prove it, but that kid is nutty over a smoothy!

Snow Day

I was off work today due to MLK Day, but it also turned out to be another snow day so worked out perfect!!

Zane enjoyed another few hours in the snowy goodness only this time daddy was able to join him!!

As of right now it is snowing again...wonder what tomorrow's commute will bring...eek!

SNOW Round 2

After Landon's nap today the three of us headed to my mom's house to play since Josh had to go into work for a few hours.  As we got closer and closer to her exit off the freeway the snow started coming down harder and harder - so pretty!

I got the boys bundled up again and out we went again only this time my mom joined us for a bit!  Same as earlier in the day; Zane couldn't get enough of it and Landon wanted out of it!

Zane was dressed and ready to go first so he and my mom headed out while I finished getting Landon dressed to go out.  Here is what I found when I walked outside...

Zane trying to pull my mom on the sled, haha!

Here, Grandma is trying to push Zane down the hill while holding onto Landon so I could get a picture...

Time to head down the street - Zane was thrilled to pull Landon on the sled:

Landon wasn't a big fan of being pulled on the sled, so Zane decided it was time to give that up and time to have a snowball fight with Grandma:

Here Landon is watching the snowball fight happen:

My lame attempt at getting a picture of Landon and I - Landon was too busy watching the snowball fight...

Pulling the boys back to my mom's...nothing like pulling 65+ pounds down the street with one kid screaming his head off the entire time - thank goodness it was a flat street!

Back inside now - Landon is much happier:

Watching Zane and uncle Charlie out the window:

A couple of pictures of Zane and uncle Charlie playing - I was too lazy and warm to put my shoes on to go out - so you'll have to settle for photos taken through the window!

Weatherman is predicting more snow tonight - I'm always skeptical of their predictions when it comes to snow - but I am hopeful they are right.  Bonus, I don't have to work tomorrow - thank you MLK for having a birthday!

SNOW Round 1

After seeing many Facebook posts and text messages from friends yesterday of everyone else in the state receiving their fair share of snow I was starting to get very jealous, but was still very helpful that we too might receive some of the precious white stuff!  Zane came running into our room to wake us up this morning yelling "mommy, I just opened the curtain downstairs and guess what, THERE'S SNOW"! I was so happy for him (and for me, I won't lie, I love the snow too)!  We didn't have a lot, but the grass had a nice dusting and it was still coming down - it didn't matter to Zane how much we had, he was just so happy to see it!  We had breakfast and then bundled the boys up and out they went!

Zane wasn't too sure of the stuff - he pretty much went back and forth between having a look of confusion on his face to crying, back to confusion:

Zane on the other hand was THRILLED from the moment he stepped out the door!  He was even more excited when we told him he could drive his "quad" in the snow!  I stuck Landon on the sled and away we went.

I was hoping it wouldn't be like last year where it took me longer to get Zane bundled up to go out than the amount of time he actually spent outside in the snow.  He was definitely a different kid out there this year, he LOVED it - couldn't get enough of it!  Thankfully a few of the neighborhood kids came out and he could play with someone cooler than mommy!

The kids had a snowball fight and took to sledding on the "hill" - they were having so much fun!  Zane even took a turn rolling down the hill - something he NEVER would've done last year!

And here is my little angel making a snow angel, haha!

I built the kids a little snowman (can't tell you the last time I did that) and I am not kidding when I say about a half a second after snapping this picture the little dude fell over backwards!  It happened so fast of me taking the picture I honestly thought the picture would be of the snowman in mid fall, but I guess I snapped it just in time!

And while Zane was out having fun with his buds - Landon was inside getting warm and playing with his favorite past time - Hotwheels!

After Landon wakes up from his nap, we are headed over to my mom's to frolic in her snowy yard for a bit - can't wait!!  Its too bad daddy had to head to work this afternoon :(
