Nine, Ten, Eleven

My good friend Anna married her soul mate Alex this past Saturday (9/10/11) and I could not be happier for them! This had to be the best wedding I've been too aside from my own! The wedding took place at her parents beautiful home overlooking the water in Bellingham. The weather was gorgeous and the bride stunning, it couldn't have been a better evening! Aside from watching these two lovebirds tie the knot, I think my favorite part of the night was seeing a ton of old friends from college, some I haven't seen in probably 10 or 11 years!

The wedding...

Now onto the reception:

Another great part to the night was when 180 Chinese lanterns were laid across the lawn and anyone who wanted to could go and light one and let it sail through the sky! I just had my poopy point-and-shoot camera by this time (the DSRL was sleeping in the car), so my pictures do not do it justice at all! It was a very awesome sight!

Soccer Saturday

Zane's 1st soccer practice was this past Saturday and he LOVED it! He played for half of the season last year (we signed him up late) and although he did well last year, Josh and I could totally see the difference in him this year. We are pretty impressed by his dribbling skills and he's finally learning not to use his hands (although, sometimes still needs a reminder)!

Its a whole new ballgame this year due to his diabetes. Exercise can really lower his blood sugar, so we had some trials and errors this past Saturday and will do our best to make next Saturday a little smoother! Nothing too scary, just ended up having to chase a lot of lows all day and night (actually Josh's parents were chasing those lows at night, sorry guys) - I have plans for next week, so we'll see if my tweaks work!

WILD WAVES!!!

At the beginning of the summer we told Zane if he got comfortable putting his face in the water during swimming lessons we'd reward him by taking him to Wild Waves. We drive by Wild Waves almost everyday and he always is saying he wants to go. Well, Zane became relatively comfortable putting his face in the water, so we wanted to hold up our end of the bargain and we SURPRISED him with a trip to Wild Waves today!

It took a little bit for it to all to sink in once we arrived, he was in a pretty good state of "awe" when we walked in, but in a matter of minutes he was jumping up and down, ready to get in line for our first slide! Obviously, Josh and I rode the big slides with him, so I didn't have my camera handy much, but I did capture a few shots from our day today!

Huge thank you again to Jen for watching our littlest man today, Landon told me he had a great time!!

Kalua Pork and Friends

Josh was organizing the freezer the other day after grocery shopping (yes, my awesome husband does the grocery shopping) and found some pork in there that we had forgotten about so he suggested I make some Kalua Pork and I never say no to a delicious dish like that! Since there was more than enough to feed a small army, we invited some friends over Sunday evening to enjoy it with us! The kids had a great time playing and the adults had a great time hanging out and scarfing down some yummy dinner!

Action shot, haha:

Cheers to Josh and Kent:

Thanks for coming guys, we had a great time!

Hiking

Josh and his friend Johnny went hiking and kayaking over at Lake Mowich Sunday and from what I hear aside from getting eaten' alive by bugs, they had a great time! Josh saw some pretty cool stuff and since he knows I'm a sucker for waterfalls he was nice enough to take many pictures for me!

Beers & Band

Saturday night Josh and I headed out to a bar in Des Moines to watch our good friend Bruce's band play. Bruce and band did great! It was fun to have a night out with all adults too (thanks to my brother for watching the house while the boys slept)!

As you can tell from the pictures, I was NOT the one who drove home that night, haha!

Yay, he loves me too:

Steam Engine

Thanks to Groupon we rode the steam engine train in Centralia-Chehalis this past Saturday and had a great time!! Unfortunately due to some insane holiday traffic, we missed the 1:00 p.m. train, but thankfully they had one more at 3:00 p.m., so we were able to get onto that one! It was a long day for both boys, but they did great! And just in true Landon form, he slept through half of the ride...that kid will sleep anywhere and through any noise (this train was not quiet by any means)!

Un-flattering picture of all of us, but proof we were on the train!
