Christmas at Grandma Hansen's!

We had Christmas with my mom, grandma and uncle today at my mom's house! Zane of course was very spoiled by everyone, but Josh and I were too! It was a great afternoon with family!

Mini Holiday Party

Josh and I attended his work's holiday party last night in Tacoma! My best friend Christina watched Zane all night for us, which was a great treat! The party was a lot of fun and I'm really glad we had the opportunity to go and get out just the two of us! I know after this little peanut arrives it'll be awhile before that happens again!

This is as stylish as you get at 38 weeks pregnant!

This is what tired looks like...

So I am not sure what is going on lately with Zane and his bedtime routine, but I do know that I really hope this is a somewhat normal phase and it ends soon. For the past couple of weeks we have been putting him to bed around his normal time (7:30-8) without changing anything in his routine and he fights us until about 10 p.m. By fighting us, I mean, yelling for us, wanting water, wanting food, needing to go potty etc. We try to ignore it, but it just goes on and on and on, so we give in and go scold him or give him water. Well, last night was a whole new ballgame...we put him to bed at 8:15 p.m. and he fought us until...1:45 a.m., I am not kidding. We tried bringing him into bed with us (something we NEVER do), I tried laying down in his bed with him, gave him a ton of water, ton of potty breaks, ton of scolding, ton of threatening, ton of bribing, nothing worked. Of course my alarm goes off at 5 a.m., so you can imagine how excited I was to not get to sleep until 2 a.m., its now 6:15 a.m. and I need to wake him up to get going and you can imagine the good mood he'll be in this morning which will just make my morning that much merrier. I really don't know what to do short of drugging him with Benedryl...which I strongly considered at midnight last night! Any moms out there have anything like this happen with their toddlers...what do I do? We try ignoring it and letting him "cry it out" per say, but it just goes on for hours literally. Ahhh, all I can say is this better end before the new baby comes because what the hell will we do with both of them up fighting us all night! I'm scared!

By the way, this has nothing to do with the cold he's had because he's all better now and this started before the cold did!

I just took this picture...looks like he was so tired he didn't even fall asleep on his pillow last night:

Just a virus?!

I took Zane to the doctor yesterday because his fever was over 103 and he was showing no signs of getting better after many doses of Tylenol! The doc checked him all over and noticed his throat was very red and swabbed it thinking it might be strep. After waiting outside of the lab for about 15 mins we got the news that the swab came back negative. Normally that is a good thing, but for his doctor and I we were hoping for it to be positive so he could start on some antibiotics and nip this thing in the bud. But instead its just as silly virus that has to run its course.

Waiting outside the lab with a sucker in mouth and stickers in hand!

My in-laws watch Zane every Wednesday, so it was good they were here today to be with him. He was running a fever still off and on all day. With my upcoming maternity leave and the fact my boss is out of the country on vacation right now I just can't miss any work if at all possible. Josh is down a couple of tech's at work and also cannot miss any work. My wonderful in-laws were gracious enough to take Zane home with them tonight so they could watch him again tomorrow. It seriously broke my heart letting him go tonight, I felt so guilty as a mom that I couldn't take care of my baby. I know he is in great hands, but I want those hands to be mine. I know this is best for us all, but it just breaks my heart...damn hormones!!

On his way to grandma and papa's house with his back-pack full of toys!

I am really hoping the little guy is better by Friday because I am supposed to accompany Josh to his company holiday party, but I can't send him to a my best friend's house Friday night if he's still got a fever! Think happy thoughts that this virus is gone tomorrow!

Sicko

I received a call from daycare this afternoon that Zane wasn't feeling well and was running a fever, so as soon as I could shut down my computer I headed out to get him. We came home, laid in my bed for about 1 1/2 hours watching Sprout and then went downstairs where I finally got him to eat! He is still warm, but seems to be feeling ok for the most part...he goes in spurts from being really active to just laying low and back to being active. He's soaking up the bubbles in a nice warm bath right now (I'm jealous) and then we'll have some more downtime before bedtime!

Here is the cutie during one of his "laying low" spurts:

Pregnant Gals Day Out!

Oh how I've been waiting for this day!! Three of my girlfriends and I pampered ourselves today with a Pregnant Gals Day Out! We've been planning this for a couple of months; so happy the day finally arrived!

We headed out to lunch at Mama Sortini's...yum! After lunch, we headed out to get pedicures! We did get a lot of questions while out and about as a couple of us look like we'll pop any day now, but it was a lot of fun!

The daddy's were all home taking care of the little ones (aside from the one person who doesn't already have a kiddo at home)...it was a great day out and I'm so happy I got to spend the day with them! I think the next time we are all 4 together again it'll be for a play-date, haha!

Apparently purple was the color of the day!

And red was the color of the day for our toes!

Motorcycle Show

Josh and Zane headed out to the Motorcycle/Quad show this morning and by the looks of the pictures Josh took...I think Zane had a good time! I honestly hope to never see my child at any age driving/riding a motorcycle, but being that he's a boy I'm guessing I probably will someday! For now, I'll bask in the glory of him being on the non-moving kind!
