Mini Cooper Holiday Party.

Last night we attended Josh's work holiday party and had a good time! It was nice to get all dressed up and actually have somewhere to go! There was an ugly Christmas sweater contest and Josh was bound and determined to win. He didn't know what he'd win (turns out you don't win anything), but we searched high and low for the perfect sweater! A good friend of mine's mom owns a prized "ugly" (but don't tell her its ugly) Christmas sweater and she was kind enough to let Josh borrow it! This thing is priceless! But as priceless as it may be, Josh didn't win. The winner should NOT have won though b/c he wasn't even wearing a sweater. He just decorated a courderoy vest (not even a sweater vest) tacky and won...ugh, I'm still bitter about that. If you are going to call it an ugly Christmas sweater contest, then the winner needs to be wearing a darn sweater! Oh well, it was fun and probably not something Josh will do again next year!

Gingerbread Choo-Choo!

Zane made his first gingerbread choo-choo tonight with the help of mom & dad! He had a really good time, I'm glad I didn't wait another year to do it thinking he wasn't old enough yet...he really did a good job!

Santa's Lap.

I took Zane to visit Santa tonight after work and just as last year he was not a big fan! I pretty much knew he'd be like this, but I of course had a small glimmer of hope that he'd love being on Santa's lap...that glimmer of hope went out the window as soon as Zane caught sight of the jolly ol' fella! I had been pumping him up about seeing Santa all day (well before & after work), but again, all of that did no good in the end! Oh well, I have a feeling that next year he'll understand what St. Nick is all about and be more excited to give the guy a list of his wants! For now, we'll cherish these screaming Santa pictures!

Bellevue Botanical Gardens.

For the 2nd year, Zane and I joined up with my friend Colleen and her son Alex (and this year, she has baby Anna too) to trek through the Bellevue Botanical Gardens light display! Just like last year its a beautiful sight to see...and just like last year it was freezing cold!! This was the first time that I did not even take the stroller to something like this and let Zane just walk the whole thing! I always try to have the stroller with me just in case he decides he doesn't want to walk...because lugging a 30 lb kid around is not my forte. I'd rather push an empty stroller than wish that I had brought it, but Zane did great tonight (I think having Alex to run and play with helped)! Anyway, that was tonight's "Christmas Activity", seems like we have one almost every night this week...I love it!

The boys on the run! When we had to call them, we'd just yell "Zane Alexander"...worked well, since its Zane's whole name, yet it was really calling both boys, haha!

Colleen, Alex and Anna!

My head is really not that tall...didn't realize the hat looks like a chef's hat...I sure hope Santa brings me a new hat!

Notice how we encouraged the boys to break the rules and get behind the rope, so we could get a picture of them right next to the bunny, haha!

Zane and Alex hugging good-bye, adorable!

Snowflake Lane!

Zane and I met up with our friends Neimeh and Bashir today after work to experience Snowflake Lane in Bellevue! I had wanted to take Zane last year, but time went by so quickly that we didn't end up making it, so I made a point to schedule a time early this year so I could take him! Its helpful that I work in Bellevue, so its a quick jont over there after picking him up at daycare...the downside to that is daddy doesn't get to go with us since he works so far south! But that's why we take lots of pictures, so daddy can feel like he was there with us...and he didn't have to freeze like we did! Something about standing outside in 25 degree weather with man-made snow coming down on you that doesn't seem right...if its that cold it should freakin' be real heaven-made snow! Either way, the snow was delightful and the boys liked the experience...for the most part (you'll see what I mean below).

The cutest boys in town with their adorable matching hats...I found them at the Gap for $3.00!!

So, this is the part they didn't love so much! Oh, just wait Zane...Santa pictures are coming up later this week, haha!

He was in amazement watching the drummer!

Just a view looking down Snowflake Lane!

Ornament Exchange!

I hosted my first annual (yes, annual, because I plan on doing it every year) Ornament Exchange party today! I co-hosted one last year, but decided to take on the task myself this year and I'm glad I did! There was a such a good turn-out and so many beautiful ornaments to be fought over! Zane walked away with a cute ornament with two cute little mice on it (fitting since he loves Mickey Mouse right now) and I got a 3 pack of beautiful photo frame ornaments! Zane couldn't wait to hang his on the tree...I'm still trying to find pictures for all of mine! Great friends, good food and lots of laughter, I couldn't have asked for a better event! I'm excited for next year's already!!

The whole gang!!

Tree Lighting.

Zane and I met my mom and grandma down in Renton (where they both live) for their Tree Lighting event. Its a pretty small event, but very Christmasy and fun nonetheless. Zane's highlight was seeing Santa arrive on a firetruck!

Of course everyone can't look at the same camera at the same time...that would be too difficult!
