Yahoo for sunny weather!

Temper Temper

Oh my word...its going to take a whole new parenting style with Landon then it ever did with Zane and honestly I have no idea just what that parenting style is!  Landon is showing a temper and deviancy about him that Zane to this day has never portrayed!  Landon LOVES to throw things, EVERYTHING!  He especially loves to throw Hotwheel cars and trust me, those hurt when they hit you!  I do the normal "no Landon, we don't throw", the "Landon, stop throwing", the "Landon, if you do it again, you're getting a timeout" and want to know what he does...he looks me right in the eye and throws it again.  I understand he is young and still learning and its my job as a parent to help teach him and help him learn things things, but I can tell by the look in his eye that he knows exactly what I am saying and he is completely out of spite doing it again!  I am pretty good (not perfect by all means) with following through on my "threats" to the boys, I really think you have to be in order to really teach them anything.  Well...I followed through the other night and my oh my.  I put Landon in time-out and that kid went into a full on kicking and screaming, gagging himself from crying so hard fit - of course I grabbed my phone and started taking pictures which I know did NOT help matters at all, but I really wanted this documented so when he's older he can see just what a little terror he was at times!!

If any seasoned parents out there have any advice, I'd love to hear it because I'm slightly afraid of what's to come with him!  Even though Landon isn't my first child, he is definitely having many "firsts" for me!  I have heard from my mother-in-law that Josh was the exact same way as a child and now he is one of the most mellow people I know, so I hope that I don't have to go through the craziness she had to in his childhood to get to the mellow adult!!  Oh and by the way, he is not always like this, he really is a good kid and happy most of the time!!

Family FUN Center

I am finally getting around to downloading pictures from my phone!  Last weekend we took part in another fun Groupon that we purchased and headed to the Family Fun Center and guess what...we had FUN!!  We still have more points on our card and plan on heading back there again soon!

Happy Easter

From our family to yours, we wish you a very blessed Easter.

Eggs

Landon came down with a little tummy bug yesterday at daycare (lucky them) and since my inlaws were due to watch him today, but didn't want to chance getting sick themselves I opted to stay home with my little men!  I'm glad I did.  Landon was 100% fine today (only threw up once last night at home), quickest tummy bug ever!  I sure hope that Zane and I stay free from it though (Josh had it last weekend) - crossing my fingers!

Anyway, onto the title of the post...while Landon was napping today, Zane and I took the time to color our Easter eggs!  I had to actually Google how to hard-boil an egg, that is one kitchen task that I can never remember how to do from year to year - sadly this is the only time I do it.  Anyway, once the egg fiasco was over it was on to coloring them.  I saw on a blog a post on coloring eggs with Kool-aid and decided to give it a whirl...lets just say this will be the only way we'll be coloring eggs in this house here forward...cheaper and no vinegar - two things that make my husband very happy (he gags at the smell of vinegar)!

I love how he has the exact same facial expression with each egg!

She's Five!

Why does 5 sound so old to parents?  Maybe its because they start "real" school when they are 5, maybe its because they can pretty much do all of the every day things themselves, maybe its because they start to look/act like kids and not babies/toddlers anymore, maybe its because you learn you cannot talk around them like you used to anymore because they understand too much now...whatever it is its I'm guessing it is a very bittersweet moment!  My best friend's daughter Brooklyn turns 5 this week and she had her much anticipated Hello Kitty party Saturday!  Christina was nice enough to ask me to help plan this grand event and I don't think we could've done any better!  In fact after we got home yesterday Zane said to me "that was the best party I've ever been to"!  I hope that doesn't mean better than his own haha!!

This party pretty much looked like Hello Kitty and the color pink threw up all over the place!  Seeing as how I will never have a little girl of my own it was fun to help plan pretty in pink until my heart was content!  It helped that I had a minor obsession with Hello Kitty when I was a little too - I was able to relive a little bit of my childhood!
