Presents!

I took the afternoon off work today, so Josh and I could be home at the same time to watch Zane open up his gifts! Neither of us wanted to miss this!

I absolutely love the look of excitement on his face, I guess we did good!!

Happy Birthday Baby!

Zane's FOUR!!

Zane,

I cannot believe you are FOUR years old - where the heck did the last year go, where did my baby go?! You are turning into such a wonderful little boy and your daddy and I couldn't be more proud of you.

You are such a well behaved little man (most of the time!) and just crack me up when you ask why another kid isn't behaving if we are out and about and some kid is getting into trouble for something. I always have to remind you that you are not perfect either!! You are always so concerned about what everyone else is doing and WHY they are doing it.

Speaking of WHY...I will say buddy that I know that you have to ask questions to learn, I get that...but please before you send me straight to the funny farm can you not ask us why to questions that we know you know the answer to? It just drives your daddy and I completely crazy! You have gotten to the point where if you ask a question like that I can just give you a certain look and you quickly answer the question yourself!!

To say that you are a dream big-brother is an understatement. You have been in love with Landon since the day he entered into this world, never once have you been jealous of him and never once have you been upset when we've had to tend to your needs over doing something that you want us to do with/to you. One day Landon will realize just how lucky he is to have you - but secretly I'm pretty sure he already had a good idea of it. He loves to watch you and tries to be right where you are and you just let him and I love that! I know the day will come that sibling rivalry will be at its best and I know that is just part of life, but I also know that no matter the fighting that is to come, you guys will always love each other!

You are getting so smart, learning all of your letters, writing your name, learning what each letter's sound is - I just can't get over how much you learn and change everyday!

Zane I tell you this all of the time and I will never stop...you are such a hero to me buddy, you have endured so much over the last year and it hasn't stopped you from ANYTHING, you truly are the person that we should all strive to be. I love how you roll with the punches.

I thank God everyday for choosing me to be your mommy - I hope that you really understand how much I love you sweetheart.

Love,
Mommy

Pumpkin Carving Round 2

My best friend Christina had her 1st "annual" (hope its annual, because I want to do it again next year) pumpkin carving party last night! Since Josh had already carved our biggin' we brought Zane's little pumpkin that he got on his school field trip to the pumpkin patch! This little guy was the perfect size for Zane's attention span!

I can't get over what a beautiful smile Miss Brooklyn has:

Landon was used as a prop as usual:

But he also received his normal dose of loving from Auntie Christina too:

Pumpkin Carving Round 1

Daddy had to work most of Sunday - so in the few short hours we had with him in the morning we made sure to put him to work and carve our big 45lbs pumpkin!! I had the usual job of digging out the guts and separating the seeds for later roasting. Zane had the usual job of just observing because he refuses to touch the oooey, gooey goodness. Josh had the usual job of manning the carving tools (which included a drill this year). And Landon had the new job (since this was his first year of pumpkin carving) of checking out the guts, which he naturally threw all over our floor!

Batman Birthday Party

Zane's long awaited Batman Birthday Party was finally today!! I feel like I've been planning this thing forever! It turned out just like I had hoped! Zane had a BLAST, he was so excited to have all of his friends in one place at one time!

We had his party at the Tacoma Children's Museum - the kids played in the museum for the first hour and then we headed down to the party room for the 2nd hour and had snacks, presents and cake! I'm pretty sure everyone had a good time!

Here are a few pictures from his big-day...I can't believe my baby is FOUR (or will be in 2 days anyway)!

Here is the table (just as I had pictured in my head!!) - and before anyone makes a comment, YES, I know the Z and the N are backwards, that's what I get when I have a 3 year old help me put it together!!

2011 Trick-or-Treating Round 1

For the 2nd year in a row my work held a Trick-or-Treat for employee's kids (grand-kids, nieces/nephews etc), and once again it was a total hit for the kids, employees and even the patients! Who doesn't love to see some cute kids all dressed up and on a sugar high?!!

Here are my two cuties (this is not Zane's actual Halloween costume, he just felt like being a pirate for tonight's event):

Zane picked out Landon's costume, I think we'll let him do that every year until Landon actually has an opinion:

Zane's best friend Brooklyn stopped by for some fun too:

Absolutely impossible to get all kids looking at the camera and smiling, but here's the best we could do:
