Pumpkin Carving Round 2

My best friend Christina had her 1st "annual" (hope its annual, because I want to do it again next year) pumpkin carving party last night! Since Josh had already carved our biggin' we brought Zane's little pumpkin that he got on his school field trip to the pumpkin patch! This little guy was the perfect size for Zane's attention span!

I can't get over what a beautiful smile Miss Brooklyn has:

Landon was used as a prop as usual:

But he also received his normal dose of loving from Auntie Christina too:

Pumpkin Carving Round 1

Daddy had to work most of Sunday - so in the few short hours we had with him in the morning we made sure to put him to work and carve our big 45lbs pumpkin!! I had the usual job of digging out the guts and separating the seeds for later roasting. Zane had the usual job of just observing because he refuses to touch the oooey, gooey goodness. Josh had the usual job of manning the carving tools (which included a drill this year). And Landon had the new job (since this was his first year of pumpkin carving) of checking out the guts, which he naturally threw all over our floor!

Batman Birthday Party

Zane's long awaited Batman Birthday Party was finally today!! I feel like I've been planning this thing forever! It turned out just like I had hoped! Zane had a BLAST, he was so excited to have all of his friends in one place at one time!

We had his party at the Tacoma Children's Museum - the kids played in the museum for the first hour and then we headed down to the party room for the 2nd hour and had snacks, presents and cake! I'm pretty sure everyone had a good time!

Here are a few pictures from his big-day...I can't believe my baby is FOUR (or will be in 2 days anyway)!

Here is the table (just as I had pictured in my head!!) - and before anyone makes a comment, YES, I know the Z and the N are backwards, that's what I get when I have a 3 year old help me put it together!!

2011 Trick-or-Treating Round 1

For the 2nd year in a row my work held a Trick-or-Treat for employee's kids (grand-kids, nieces/nephews etc), and once again it was a total hit for the kids, employees and even the patients! Who doesn't love to see some cute kids all dressed up and on a sugar high?!!

Here are my two cuties (this is not Zane's actual Halloween costume, he just felt like being a pirate for tonight's event):

Zane picked out Landon's costume, I think we'll let him do that every year until Landon actually has an opinion:

Zane's best friend Brooklyn stopped by for some fun too:

"Trick-or-Treat"

Absolutely impossible to get all kids looking at the camera and smiling, but here's the best we could do:

Chillin' w/mom

My work is hosting trick-or-treaters this evening (kids of employees) and so Zane is spending the day at work with me today! The original plan was for Josh to bring him to me on his way into work this afternoon, but Zane ended up getting himself up at 5 a.m. and I knew Josh would be nowhere ready to take care of him at that time, since he hadn't gotten home from work until aroudn 2 a.m. I texted my boss this morning asking if it would be ok if I just brought him with me today and she said "of course, bring him in"!! Yay! I know this is a huge luxury and not one I plan on cashing in on often, but it sure is handy when its sort of a "must"!

One of the PA's I work with's son was diagnosed with Type1 when he was 4, so he knows that a lot of candy isn't the best thing for these kiddos, he gave Zane an envelope with some money so he could go buy something special instead of candy. It was seriously the sweetest thing ever and almost brought me to tears...as you can tell, Zane was pretty excited about it!

And as I type this...here is what he's doing...sound asleep, what a good little work buddy!

Stay tuned for more pictures later of the little trick-or-treaters!!
