Warm summer nights!

We are really enjoying these warm (but not too hot) summer nights right now. Last night we went over to the Nilsson's and had a BBQ and Zane experienced his first bout with the sprinkler...lets just say he's not a big fan of the cold water and I can't really blame him! The Nilsson's have some family in town from Sweden and their kids loved the sprinkler though...maybe Zane will learn to like it!

Pizza on the grill!

We tried something new the other night...homemade pizza on the grill! It turned out pretty good; we definitely know what to do next time to make it even better, but wasn't bad for our first try. Zane's favorite part was stuffing his face with cheese while we were making it!

Kids Quest Museum

Zane & I met up with our friends Neimeh & Bashir tonight after work to go to the Kids Quest Children's Museum, it was so much fun (even for the adults)! I think the biggest hit were the water tables and the big truck they could drive! We'll for sure have to go back again!

Salt Water State Park

While Josh was working on the car this last Saturday, Zane and I took a little picnic down to Salt Water State Park. My little boy cannot stand the feel of grass or sand on his bare feet, so it made a challenge for us, but we had a good time anyway! Instead of sitting on the beach for our picnic, we sat at that picnic table (nothing wrong with that) and instead of playing in the sand, we played on the play structure. Hopefully, he gets over this texture aversion! Oh, you're probably wondering "why didn't you just put shoes on him?"...well, he had shoes on, but they were sandal type shoes, so sand got into them easy, therefore causing him to freak out! So to the grass/table we went!

The view from our picnic table.

Zane enjoying that beautiful view (i.e. avoiding the camera).

Another famous self portrait of the two of us!

Sunglasses.

Welcome back summer, you have been missed!

I'm not sure where you like to wear your sunglasses, but Zane prefers that his are worn around his neck! He will keep them like this for an entire car ride...no matter how many times I attempt to move them up to his eyes, he takes them right down to his neck.

Memorial Day Weekend 2009.

What a great 3-day weekend we had! We didn't have any major plans, just hung out and took full advantage of the great weather & family around us and just relaxed!

Saturday, May 23.

Zane enjoyed his first Frosty from Wendy's!!

Zane riding his trike outside...still can't quite reach the pedals.

Mommy & Zane both got haircuts!

Sunday, May 24.

We went to my grandma's in the morning for a little walk...Zane got the pleasure of taking a ride on grandma's wheels!

Sitting on the donkey at the park!

Monday, May 25.

We decided to host a BBQ this Memorial Day and weren't expecting too many people since most people high-tail it out of town to go camping and such. We were wrong...we had quite a few friend show up and it was a ton of fun! The one downer...about 2 hours before people were due to arrive, Josh went to fire up the BBQ to just make sure everything was working properly (something we don't normally do, but glad we did this time)...the darn thing was dead. Not out of propane, just out on account of old age. We were frantic...what were we going to do. Well, Josh did what any guy would do...he dashed down to Sears and bought us a new grill! Now came the task to assemble it before people arrived...he got it done with about 15 minutes to spare and even had time to shower (phew)! It works great I must admit! Josh also picked up a bubble machine for Zane and his buddies while he was out...great find dad!

Assembling the new BBQ!

Proud of his work!

Friends chatting while feasting on some delicious BBQ'd food!

Zane just looking cute as always :)

Loving the bubble machine!

Now back to work tomorrow :(
