Four Years w/D

December 20, 2010 a day that will forever be engrained into our hearts, it was the day the world stopped turning for us, it was the day we felt our hearts had been ripped out of our chests...but it was the day that we got our baby back and the day that he started to be well again (although, prior, we had no idea just how sick he was).

4                    Years
48                  Bottles of Insulin
1460              Days
11, 680          Finger Pokes
3, 255            Injections
269                Pump Changes
32                  Lowest Blood sugar
600+             Highest Blood Sugar

Having a healthy, thriving 7 year old son: PRICELESS

This kiddo never ceases to amaze us!  We are so happy he is healthy, so happy for the invention of insulin and so happy that he takes this disease and shows it who's boss!  Zane has officially lived longer with Diabetes, than he ever did without it.  It's weird to think that - but it's true, it is WHO HE IS!  He is going to do great things in life and I cannot wait to see what those things are!

You've we've come a long way baby!

Crispy's Final Adventures

Can't believe it's time to say good-bye to our scout elf again!  He sure did have fun while hanging out with us again this year!  Here is how he ended his journey at the Alexander household.

December 16: He helped clean up the hotwheels for us.

December 17: He got into Landon's advent calendar - the evidence was written all over his little elf face!

December 18: I have hear of getting your hand caught in the candy/cookie jar before...but you're entire body?  Now that's talent...what a little contortionist he is!

December 19: I'm thinking Crispy missed Santa this day...

December 20: Not pictured.  Crispy landed under the tree is Zane's room with a card to Zane from Santa wishing him a happy Diaversary and letting him know how proud he was of him!  I totally forgot to snap a photo :(

December 21: Zane's favorite day by far...SUPER ELF!

December 22: Brought his blanket into the fridge!  Think he missed the chill of the North Pole.

December 23: Weeeeee...

December 24: Zip-lining of sorts...

Lights

The boys got there "Christmas" pj's tonight and we drove around to look at lights. These kids could look at lights all night long if allowed!! We saw some pretty decked out homes!

We may go out again tomorrow night because there were a few more neighborhoods we want to check out!!

Santa

Last night's Advent Activity was to go visit the big guy in red!  They were both excited!  Although, Landon was convinced we were going to the N. Pole to see him.  I had to explain to him that only the elves were allowed there right now since they were busy making the toys.  He didn't understand why we couldn't just go for a little while!  I let him know that Santa came down here to get the last minute toy requests from kids to take back to the elves!  Thankfully he was satisfied with that answer!

Zane let Santa know that he wanted Spy Gear and a small Air Hockey Table.
Landon let Santa know that he wants the Hungry Hungry Hippo game.

Sure hope Santa can make these wishes come true ;)!

Crispy's Still At It

December 12: NERF war with Froggie...I guess Froggie has some pretty good aim!  The boys were quick to point out to me that we do not shoot in the face...they're right.  Froggie, you're on the naughty list now!

December 13: Pretty self-explanitory!

December 14: Just hangin' out!

December 15: Game of Candyland anyone??

Bust-a-Move

Zane's school hires a guy who calls himself the "Dance Man" every spring to come teach the kids dances for a week and then at the end of the week, they have an evening dance where the Dance Man DJ's and the kids dance their little hearts out.

Well, they decided to bring the Dance Man in for a Winter Wonderland dance tonight as well!  Zane had a great time...not sure where these moves came from!

Sorry for the poor quality - it was pretty dark in there and my phone didn't like that!

Adventures with Crispy

And the fun continues with this little guy...

December 7: Apparently one should not mess with the Lego men...

December 8: Caught with his hand in the cookie jar package...and evidence written all over his face and clothes...

December 9: Thinks he's Spiderman...

Everyday when I get home from work I ask the boys where Crispy was today and they love to try to be the first to show me.  I asked where he was the day he was Spiderman and Landon jumped off the couch and ran over to him and grabbed his head and said "right here mommy"...he realized what he had done right as he did it.  I gasped and said "you just touched him"...he fell to his knees and started bawling :(  I picked him up and told him it was ok, I'd find a way to get his magic back for him.  He was crying and said "but I won't get any presents now"...I assured him we'd fix Crispy.  I looked on Pinterest and everything seemed too complicated for what effort I was willing to put into it.  I thankfully checked the Elf on the Shelf website and found this out...

Perfect!  So that's what we did...

Crisis averted for now...lets hope we don't go through that again this year :)

December 10: Funny guy...

Zane was pretty excited about this one - he asked if he could take the picture for sharing tomorrow!
