New Cleats

Zane starts soccer camp in a week and then his regular soccer season starts next month.  Daddy took him to get some new cleats yesterday and he could not wait to break them in!  He was running around the house all morning with them on, but that wasn't good enough - he wanted to get them out onto the field!

After dinner tonight, we walked up to the park and let him start to break those baby's in!  All three boys had a great time kicking around the ball for a bit!

Elmo

One of our favorite little girls turned 2 today and we had the pleasure of heading to her birthday party on this 90 degree day!  The sun was beating down on the deck the whole time and it was heavenly! Hot, but heavenly in my opinion!  Although heavenly for me, I think it was probably hell for Elmo! Elmo was so nice to leave his a/c on Sesame Street and come to Berkley party to celebrate!  Not sure how Elmo didn't keel over with heat stroke - but he's a trooper of a monster!  The kids were elated with him!

Sprinkler

As if the splash park wasn't enough for these kids today - we got home and headed out into the sprinkler!  I don't blame them...it was HOT!

Splash Park

The boys' daycare is closed this week so they spent the first 3 days of the week with their grandparents and today I took off to play with them!  We met up with some friends at a splash park in Auburn and had a great time!  The weather has been unbelievable around here - taking full advantage of it while we can!  After sitting out there today; you can now call me Lobster Lisa!  Whoops!  At least the boys were well protected!

Dentist

The boys had their regular 6 month check-up at the dentist bright and early this morning!  Both were very excited to go and both did an awesome job!  Landon would hardly let them come near him last time (his first visit ever) and today he allowed them to do a whole cleaning!  Unfortunately, Zane has a little cavity - it's a tough balance in the middle of the night when we are treating low blood sugars with pure sugar!  The dentist said we are doing a great job and said this is common and gave us a few tips on how to try and ward off others caused by middle of the night lows.  Zane will be getting his filling in August!  Other than that though - they got a great report and were told to keep up the good work!  They both left smiling!

Independence Day {2014}

I sure do love celebrating birthdays...especially our country's!  How many other birthdays do you know of that you can shoot explosives off into the sky legally (well, legal in some areas)?!  We don't usually do much for the 4th - more homebodies on this special day and this year was no different, but this year we had a few friends come join us and that made it all the more fun!

We started off the morning with the bike parade - the boys and I decorated their bikes and helmets the night prior and they were more than excited to ride them in the parade.  Last year, Landon rode in the stroller, so he was pretty pumped to be able to ride his bike this time!

The parade ends at the Community Park where there is a huge carnival waiting for the kids to go crazy at!  Bouncy houses, train ride, firetrucks to climb on, food full of sugar to enjoy and total mass chaos! What more could one ask for on this great day?!

After we did our damage there, we headed home for a BBQ with our friends and the kids did a few sparklers before our friends headed home.

Pretty big year for Zane this year - Josh turned the reigns over to him for lighting off most of the fireworks!  Zane thought he was pretty cool (and he was)!  Landon was already fast asleep - poor thing couldn't stay up late enough.  Zane did a great job and is already asking about next year!

Happy 4th of July to everyone!

Country Club

We had the opportunity to use the area's country club swimming pool today.  This was probably a once in our lifetime opportunity since we do not have any desire to pay the fees to join!  Let's just say...it's not cheap!  The weather wasn't exactly ideal for swimming outside today and the water was less than warm - but we had a great time!  We ran into one of Zane's friends there, so that was fun (hey...maybe they can get us in another time, haha) - and Zane was able to show off his swimming skills again.  I'm seriously in shock with how well he's doing - it's like a switch just got flipped and I love it!
