Swimming

It is Landon's turn for some swim lessons!  He took them once as a baby in the "Mom & Me" classes...but it was finally his turn to take them all by himself...since he's all growed up now!  Zane is a little bummed that he isn't in them too, but we reminded him that there are a lot of sports and things that he has done that Landon hasn't - so it was little brother's turn for a time in the spotlight!  We did tell him, we'd put him in next session though - we're suckers like that!

But back to Landon...he LOVES his lessons!  He tells me over and over afterwards "I had fun mommy"!  He is doing so well!  Definitely not afraid of the water at all!  I can't wait to see what all he accomplishes this session!

Seattle

We spent last Sunday up on Capital Hill hanging out with some friends of ours who happen to live there.  I must admit I have not spent a lot of time there and definitely haven't been there in quite a few years, so it was a lot of fun.  I love how you can walk everywhere!  Our friends said they don't drive anywhere unless it's out of Seattle - crazy!

It was a gorgeous day, so we headed out to find lunch and then to Volunteer Park to eat it and let the kids play!  Afterwards, we headed to a very cool bookstore where the kids spent a lot of time perusing books (and each even picking out one to purchase) - while the kids were hanging out making friends in the kid book section, the adults were enjoying some coffee in the cafe on site - very cool.  We then headed to a very cool kid and dog friendly pub near their house called Chucks - did you know beer taste better in a mason jar?  True story!  We then had dinner on their roof top deck and took in the great views and beautiful sunset...then it was back home and back to reality!  What a great day though!

The entire time we were out walking the boys would all sprint the entire block and once at the intersection they would all sit down and wait for the adults.  It was very odd - but so funny at the same time.  No idea where they got this idea, but it did keep us parents laughing!

Waiting for lunch - just a little hungry after all that running!

Enjoying a beverage in-between looking at books and running amuck in the kid section!

The beer that tastes better in a mason jar!

They had some games at the pub for the kids to keep themselves busy with...
the boys chose CandyLand - it just happened to be princess CandyLand!  Didn't bother them a bit!

We had a great time - thanks for having us over Bergman's!

Fox Hollow Farm

I took the last two days off work to spend the tail end of Spring Break with the boys and it was WONDERFUL!  We had two packed days of fun!  Sadly, I only really took pictures of today's fun though!  I have been wanting to check out Fox Hollow Farm in Issaquah for sometime now and today was finally the day to do that!  It was worth the wait.  It was wonderful - the boys had a blast.  There were animals everywhere just asking to be pet or held.  There were pony rides and train rides just waiting to be ridden!  It is definitely a place we will go back to again and again!

And because Diabetes never takes time off - we were {lucky} enough to have a pump failure within our first 10 minutes there...so we had to change Zane's pump in the middle of the farm!  Never a dull moment.

Landon is a huge animal lover - his brother...not so much!

Probably my favorite picture - just captures his pure excitement.

But Zane couldn't wait to have a pony ride - he even did it twice!

Love this look of pure joy!

Landon was not a big fan of pony ride, but I think it had more to do with the fact his helmet was about 5 sizes too big!

A great end to a great week!

Empty

My babies have been gone since Saturday night.  This is the longest they have ever been away from me.  We are SO lucky to have such loving, caring and trusting grandparents for them - but that doesn't make it any easier for them to be away.  I know they are having a blast, but I.cannot.wait to have them back in my arms tomorrow night.

Their rooms are so clean and empty without them...I'm ready for the messes and chaos again!

{Seventeen}

Seventeen years ago today some boy in my freshmen dorm convinced me that we should try being more than friends...pretty glad I gave in!

Lost in the Woods

Zane & Landon headed over to Grandma & Papa Alexander's Saturday evening to spend part of spring break.  That meant, Josh and I were left alone!  What ever would we do with all of our spare time? What ever would we do to occupy ourselves while the children were away?

We figured out some stuff!  One of being which...going on a bike ride...a long bike ride...and it was awesome!  The weather yesterday was GORGEOUS.  As soon as I got home from work, we changed and headed out to find some trails!  There are over 20 miles of biking/running trails here in Snoqualmie and although we've ventured a couple of them here and there for short distances - we knew there was so much more to see/do.  We didn't have an agenda, we didn't have a map and we didn't have a clue where we were going and it was great!  We just hopped on one trail and rode to the end of it, then hopped on another and another.  It was beautiful.  It was hard, very hard.  Many steep hills to climb, some deep mud in places and a few too many switchbacks...but they were all worth it.  Did I mention it was beautiful?

Chuck E. Cheese

Zane was invited to a friend from school's birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese today and was over the moon excited!  He had a wonderful time and can't wait to go back some other time!  I really think they'd make a killing if they put a full bar in there for the parents though :)

Meanwhile back at the neighbor's house this Kevin and Winnie Cooper action was going on...
