Thirty-Six

I had the honor celebrating my 36th birthday on Saturday with the people I love most - my little family! If anyone knows me at all - they know that my birthday is my favorite day of the year!  I love it. Always have and pretty sure I always will!  The # doesn't bother me at all - I'm just happy to be healthy and turning another year older!  Thankfully my husband and boys know how much I love this day, so they do everything they can to make it special!  They succeeded once again!  I felt so loved and spoiled all day!

Landon didn't get the memo that to make mommy extra happy would be to sleep in past 6:30 a.m. on her birthday - so my day started out early!  We had some cuddles in bed while I half slept and he watched Chuggington while we waited for Zane to get up and daddy to get home from work!  Once daddy was home and Zane was up - they showered me with gifts!  I'm all set for pedicures and hair cut/colors for awhile - yahoo!

Once Josh went to take his nap (from working all night) the boys and I headed out to my brother's house in Puyallup to visit my new nephew!  This was Landon's first time meeting his cousin baby Michael (as he calls him)!  Landon got a little jealous with me holding baby Michael for so long, but he did really well and really enjoyed him and talked about him a lot throughout the day.  No better way to spend my birthday morning than holding a sweet baby like him!

One of the coolest things that happened this day doesn't have a picture to go with it - but I want to remember it.  There is a store in downtown Sumner that I have always wanted to go to - its called Persnickity Awesomeness Emporium.  Its a refurbished store - the ladies who own it make signs and re-furbish furniture and sell it - this decor is 100% me.  Anyways...I had mentioned to a good friend of mine {Brenda} that I thought I might stop by that store on my way back home since I was in the area. She mentioned she would try to join me (since she lives very close)...by the time I was going to head there, she was not able to join me anymore.  The boys and I headed in and one of the women who works there asked if by chance I was Lisa - I said "yes".  She handed me a card.  Brenda had gone down before me and dropped off a birthday card with a gift card to the store in it for my birthday.  SO COOL!  What an awesome feeling.  I bought an awesome sign that is now hanging above our bed (maybe I'll try to post a pic later).  Its nice to have great friends like that - thanks again Bren!

After all that excitement, we headed back home where Josh was waiting for us!  We headed out again and went to dinner at The Ram - it was D.E.L.I.C.I.O.U.S!  I enjoyed two "skinny" cocktails and they too were yummers!  After dinner we did a little shopping and headed home!  It was a wonderful way to spend the inauguration of my 36th year!

Bribery At It's Best...

When I got to daycare to pick Landon up tonight they were playing outside - that is a great thing - but it's also a terrible thing!  It's a terrible thing because he does.not.want.to.leave!  We're talking epic meltdown when I get there.  I am not above bribing...so to get him to leave tonight I promised him a trip to the train park, but we had to hurry to get Zane and home before it was dark.  He liked that idea...not enough to stop crying on the way out to the car, but at least he walked out to the car on his own!

As promised...

And proof Zane was there too...

Michael Anthony II

I am happy to report that my baby brother had a baby - well, actually his awesome wife Jenna birthed him - but still my baby brother had a baby!  I still cannot believe it.  Michael Anthony Susterich II was born January 10 at 1:38 p.m., 8lbs 6 oz and 19inches long!  I could not be more elated!

He is beautiful - he looks just like Michael-Luke did when he was born - beautiful head of dark hair!

Zane and I went over to meet the little bundle today.  Landon stayed with my mom because he has a little cough and I wasn't going to take any chances!

3 Years Well

Landon had his 3 year well child visit yesterday and I'm happy to report he's well!  I totally forgot there are no shots at the 3 year visit - so it made it a very happy day for both of us!  Landon is such a character - such a happy boy.  This kid makes me laugh a minimum of 30 times a day and mind you I am not with him most of the day - so that's a lot!

He's a happy, healthy, growing toddler - can't wait to see what this year holds for him.

Three year stats:
3 ft .75 inches - 64%
33 lbs - 31%

{Three} Year Pics

We finally got around to getting Landon's 3 year pictures done today - (don't mention the fact we still haven't done Zane's 6 year ones - I debated on doing them since he now gets school pictures...but after Landon's today - I decided that I DO want to have some of Zane done...).

Its really hard to get Landon to not say "cheese" and to stay in a "cute" pose - definitely a toddler!  But I think a few turned out pretty cute - what do you think?

Endo Follow-Up

Zane had his 3-month endo follow-up today - its always a love/hate appointment for me.  Thankfully today was mostly love :)  Zane's A1c was down to 7.8 from 8.4 and that is something to be happy about.  Its still not where I want it to be, but at least we are headed in the right direction.  His doctor gave Zane a very nice compliment that he was happy about - she told him he had "Rock Star Diabetes" because he was "rockin'" it and doing such a fine job!  We made a few changes in his pump that will hopefully help us get even more where we want to be.  Right now, we'll just celebrate the small steps we made and celebrate our healthy boy!

Geocashing

We decided to try our hand at Geocashing yesterday and were pretty excited about it!  We told Zane all about how we should find a treasure left by someone and then we too could leave a treasure for someone else to find after us.  He was stoked - couldn't wait!  Well...we looked and looked and looked and just couldn't find any :(  We tried so hard.  We tried two different ones and had no luck.  We aren't giving up though - we'll be out again looking soon!  Thankfully we have some friends who have had great luck at it; so we know that its possible!

After awhile the boys got bored and decided to look for their own treasure and entertain themselves!

Then, we finally just gave up and decided to try it again another day!  It was still fun though!
