Welcome Back Sounders!!

The 2010 Sounders season doesn't technically start until March 25, but they had a "charity game" as Josh likes to call it this past Thursday (3/11/10). We played the Portland Timbers who aren't technically an MLS team until next year! Josh calls it a "charity game" because he said we let the Timbers win, so they could feel good about themselves...beating a real MLS team, haha! This game was pretty neat because we didn't have assigned seats, it was all general admission, so we were able to sit with our friends (who normally sit across the field from us during regular season)!

The weather did not cooperate to say the least for this game! It POURED on us for the whole 2nd half, but both of the kids did great! With about 15 mins in the game to go Zane started to ask to go "bye-bye" and let me know that his hands were "so cold", but we persevered and stayed until the end!

So excited for the season to start!

Grandparents Rock!

We're so lucky to have my in-laws to watch Zane every Wednesday so we get a little price break on daycare and Zane gets to have his grandparents to himself for a day!!

"Does this look level dad?"

Paint.

Josh started painting tonight!! Yes, I did offer to help even though I very much dislike painting, but my wonderful husband told me that I should just relax and let him do all of the work! Ok, so maybe he didn't say it quite like that, you can rest assured that what he did say was basically insinuating that he'd rather not have my help so he wouldn't have to listen to me whine about how much I hate to paint!!

He has done an amazing job and most of the downstairs is done...just some bits and pieces in the kitchen and stairway left (saved for another day)!

My in-laws are coming tomorrow to watch Zane, I'm wondering if I should put one of those "excuse our mess, we are making it a better place for you" signs on our door like businesses put up when remodeling!!

Demolition!

Last weekend we purchased laminate flooring for most of our house (every room except the 2 full baths and bedrooms) with the idea we'd find a free couple of weekends to try and "knock it out" as Josh would say. Well, Josh came up with a bright idea the other day to get the downstairs done by Easter (as we are hosting it for his side of the family)...I thought he was out of his mind!! Oh, and with replacing the flooring he wants to also paint the entire downstairs (which makes sense since we'll have the concrete floors until we install the new flooring)...have I mentioned I HATE PAINTING?!

Well, today, we purchased the rest of what we'll need to take up the old and install the new flooring and we went to town ripping out carpet! I am amazed at how fast it went, we just might be able to meet Josh's ambitious goal after all! All of the carpet and linoleum is out now!! My brother is going to help us take it all to the dump tomorrow night and then we (insert Josh) will start painting!! Once the painting is done...we'll start laying the new floor, yippee! I just hope the rest of the tasks go as smooth as tonight went!

Oh and during all of this demolition today/tonight I was also in the midst of continuing to potty train Zane!! He was such a trooper today, staying out of the way, helping when asked and changing up his routine (which is huge for him) when needed! What a day at our house!!

Zane & Miles

We headed over to The Wieser's last night to hang out and we had a great time! Miles is finally old enough and mobile enough to keep up with Zane, it was fun to watch them interact! Of course we had some sharing issues, but in general they did great! It was nice for us adults to catch up to since we haven't seen them since Superbowl Sunday!

Last Class.

Zane had his last "Dress for the Mess" class yesterday, we are sure going to miss this class on Saturday mornings! I tried to sign him up for the next series, but once I got home to write it on the calendar I realized he'd be missing 2 out of the 4, so I had to withdraw him, maybe we can catch the next one!

Yesterday, they made ice cream, sandwiches and drew in shaving cream on the table! I'm happy to say, this kid had NO problems getting his hands dirty...major progress from the 1st class.

Shaking up the ice to make ice cream!

Making his sandwich, which he of course refused to eat!
